Just curious

When was the last time a top 10 in any poll had this profile:

  • 2 losses, including to team outside top 200
  • 0 top 100 wins
  • 2 top 500 wins
  • 5 top 1,000 wins

I think White shoes was just pulling out chain.  No way would he drop us to #9 considering we have one top 5 loss and we beat his #3 team

White shoes I always appreciate your effort of putting together a top 100. It is a time consuming thankless task. I can only comment on your Texas rankings as I don't follow enough nationally. I see you hold Desoto in high esteem which would explain you having CHill and SLC so high. If you adjust your state rankings each week how far did you drop Manvel? Having them at #8 seems a little high. I don't remember where you had them last week before their loss.

Where is Klein Collins on your radar? They are the major omission that I can see on your poll. Most people would have them over some of your higher rated Tx teams, but you're not them and can do what you want! Good job !

A ranking earned by the name on their jersey. Youd think that name wouldve lost a little luster being a .250% team OOS the last 5 years.

Spring Klein Collins is the next Texas team up and was amongst the final cuts.    The tough part for them is that they have DeSoto this weekend.   However, a competitive game should be enought to get them in, a blowout will not.

I assume you are talking about Aquinas.   My feeling with them is they came as close as anyone to beating Gorman.   They really should have beat Gorman, who were down to their last play in the game. And Gorman is the best team in the country. No doubt, the Miami Booker T. Washington loss is not good but understand there was some questionable officiating in the game and it was the first game of the season.  To be honest, I was prepared to move Mater Dei over IMG had they defeated Bosco.   The two things about that game, it is as good as I have ever seen Bosco play and I thought that the quarterback from Mater Dei got rattled in the game.

Nobody will give you a solid answer for this question. I've tried a few times.

This was posted almost immediately after you asked it in the very same thread.

The answer was right there but you insisted on coming into a completely different thread to complain that nobody had an answer.

You were so interested in finding this out that do you know how many times you responded in that thread after my post?

Zero times.

This is ridiculous.  You are making excuses for STA bad loss and completely throwing it out of consideration

like it or not STA has TWO (2) LOSSES

get them the hell out of the Top 10

It's just so dumb.

The infinite ability of the human mind to reject useful knowledge is breathtaking.

Should btw be #4 then?

Pops, cmon even if you made a poll DLS wouldnt be at 27. Further, DLS should only be put in the top 100 if they stay within 3 Tds of SJB....

You rag  on STA for who they beat but who has dls beat thats a quality opponent?

In addition, How many teams in the country could take BG to 2 OTs in Vegas?

Maybe 3-4 tops? IMG, Mater Dei, an improved SJB team from beginning of the year, and STA. That's the list. No one else could. And statistically those teams mentioned probably wouldn't .... But STA did.

STA is a top 5 team.... Easily top 10 and  could beat anybody regardless of their 2 losses.

Michigan is the second best team in the country but didn't make the playoff. There's more that meets the eye in both cases.

We agree

zero quality wins; 2 losses, one to a 4-loss team

The worst part here is that Pop will be wrong, again, and he'll just dust himself off and pretend like it never happened. Then he'll be back here next year to do the same thing all over again.

That same thing being get his analysis wrong and generally miss everything that's right in front of his face.

I said solid answer. You never gave a solid answer. You just posted two teams that ended in the top 10 with 2 losses. There were other parts to the question like having zero top 100 wins.

You can twist questions however you want, but STA has 2 losses, zero top 100 wins, and is riding the coattails of an OT loss. Embarrassing.

Please.

If that was your response then why didn't you say it in that thread at that very moment?

Because you either didn't bother to read it or you didn't have anything to say.

West Monroe lost 2 games by 28 and 10 (to a 4-6 team!).

And beat nobody by the way.

Their best wins were probably over The Woodlands and Westlake?

Hard to tell since there were no top 100 polls back then.

You were provided examples and you ignored it. Then you tried to weasel out of it in another thread.

Pathetic.

Option #3...Because it's a waste of my time if you're going to use examples of teams that played in an era without a top 100 ranking.

Then let's just meet in the middle and agree that STA has the weakest resume of a top 10 team during the Top 100 era. Congrats, I guess...

It was such a waste of your time that you went into a completely different thread to lie about not being provided an answer?

Please.

You look foolish as hell trying to shine up that turd.

You must have ignored my second example of 2009 Camden County.

But I know you want to escape this as quickly as possible.

Not only because you're so out of your league but also, you know, it's such a waste of your time.
