Ward pulls out a miracle win for the belt after being knocked down in the first round and almost being tko in the second. Freedom looked good. Real good. But as per the usual DLS is playing at the end of the year on a whole new level. Shutting out CVC was very impressive.

Followed the fight through updates. Would like to see because it sounded like ward was grabbing all night and was not the one exerting his strength.

Watched a bit of this game... I think theyll hang with DLS, and if they wouldve played earlier Freedom wouldve won... but Im guessing DLS wins 28-21 or something

Cal has it 28-27 Freedom.DLS is playing more cohesive ball as of late but I think Freedom has a realistic shot at winning

Freedom getting the early jump on Pitt 14-0 early first. DLS awaits winner.

kinda mind blowing that this is the kind of comp that made DLS' name for all these years

What's more is that every change to the playoff format ends up benefiting De La Salle.

Under this new 'open' format the Spartans will now get, wait for it, 4 bye weeks.

Not to mention the added calpreps points they'll receive because previous victims in the D1 bracket will now get to play more games, get more wins and win more championships.

Totally agree with this. I don't think the DLS coaches are even too fond of the change. Assuming they play in the Open, they'll have played 3 games in 6 weeks. It's not a fair system no matter which way you dice it.

don't be such a baby...... that's just them improving more than any other team in the country.... in those bye weeks....

lol

They had their regular bye on 9/30.

Then:

(Bye)

11/18 Clayton Valley

(bye)

12/2 Freedom

(bye)

State Bowl Game

A bye before every playoff game.
