PrepGridiron
Any other big time Saturday night bouts? (Besides ward/kovalev)
PrepGridiron
Freedom wins. Ronnie Rivers with a heckuva game. Making the New Jersey, Georgia, California connection. Ronnie Rivers is son of former NFL player Ron Rivers. Rob Rivers was born in Elizabeth, NJ. Not sure where he played HS. Ron Rivers daughter and sister of Ronnie played softball at University of Georgia.
ECHS05
Watched a bit of this game... I think theyll hang with DLS, and if they wouldve played earlier Freedom wouldve won... but Im guessing DLS wins 28-21 or something
AztecPadre
Ward pulls out a miracle win for the belt after being knocked down in the first round and almost being tko in the second. Freedom looked good. Real good. But as per the usual DLS is playing at the end of the year on a whole new level. Shutting out CVC was very impressive. Would like to see because it sounded like ward was grabbing all night and was not the one exerting his strength.
ATLien12x
In my opinion, it was a huge robbery. I had Sergey winning the fight by three points (two rounds plus 10-8 for knockdown)

AztecPadre
No robbery playa. Just another NorCal dude putting a beat down on somebody.

Under this new 'open' format the Spartans will now get, wait for it, 4 bye weeks. Not to mention the added calpreps points they'll receive because previous victims in the D1 bracket will now get to play more games, get more wins and win more championships. I don't think the DLS coaches are even too fond of the change. Assuming they play in the Open, they'll have played 3 games in 6 weeks. It's not a fair system no matter which way you dice it. Then: (Bye) 11/18 Clayton Valley (bye) 12/2 Freedom (bye) State Bowl Game A bye before every playoff game.
