Its official Taggart to FSU

I think it was the best hire given all the options. Makes a lot of sense. There's nowhere for him to after this. Oregon was just better than USF in terms of money and $100 handshakes from Nike.

But what he will get paid at FSU, and the prestige of the program, there is nowhere else for him to move up to.

Great hire. He has an impressive resume for a young coach.

We couldn’t be in any more complete agreement @Nolebull813 Even last year when we were winning you could smell the staleness just below the surface in Tally

Jimbo's constant "in your face" game time critique grew tiresome for players and fans alike. Rarely did a QB make the sideline without dealing with his open disgust. This parting of ways has been brewing for awhile now. No one associated with FSU said anything negative about him moving on. The silence spoke volumes. I like the Taggart hire. Good guy, good coach, great Florida recruiter....it's all good

Yeah, it's a great hire for Miami fans.

The guy has a losing record (47-50) and has never won a conference championship.

One of the many reasons why you'll never be in a position to hire anybody in your life: Somehow you think that's an impressive resume.

What you fail to mention is that his record improved every year as a head coach

Sure year 1 at western Kentucky and South Florida sucked but they improved every year after

Irrelevant.

Great coaches don't go 2-10 under almost any circumstance. He went 2-10 twice.

Great coaches don't coach for 8 years and have a losing record.

Great coaches also don't coach for 8 years and never win a conference championship. Especially in the Sun Belt (Western Kentucky) and AAC (South Florida).

They sucked because he's not a very good coach.

Urban Meyer took over a 2-9 Bowling Green team and went 8-3 in year 1. in 16 years as a head coach., Urban has never won less than 8 games in a season.

In 8 years as a head coach, Willie Taggart has only won 8 or more games twice.

I've seen ton of great coaches go to a school and have a losing record first year

You take over a struggling program you ain't winning year one in most cases bc generally programs that routinely have to replace coaches also struggle with bringing in good recruits which won't be corrected overnight

Within 4 years he took usf from 2-10 to 10-2

Which means he went 2-10 with Florida kids in the AAC playing the likes of Temple, UCONN and Navy.

He was also weeks away from being fired in 2015.

They started 1-3 (which made him 7-21 overall at the time) and Quinton Flowers' brilliance saved his job.

Fans in Gainesville and Miami are celebrating.

This will end in him being fired.

Fsu has owned the gators lately and i don't see that changing

Fsu has been recruiting smarter than them since Myer left Florida

And this first win for Miami in like what? 5? 6 years?

Great coaches can coach up the kids that are already on the roster.

Willie Taggart isn't a great coach so he'll use this excuse and get some people in Tallahassee to buy it.
