I assume academics will be relative to the state otherwise no schools from the South

This is where you should be careful at...

I can list 12 Blue Ribbon schools in Georgia alone that are ranked in the top 110 best public schools.

Buford HS is ranked in the top 10% of HS in general.

Westminster(Atlanta) is ranked with private Northeastern Schools and has produces multiple scholars and Ivy league students. It's also richer than any private in Cali.

North Gwinnett HS is ranked with Buford.

Columbus HS(GA)

John's Creek HS

Mcintosh HS(Peachtree)  has a blue ribbon streak of 6 years. Over 40% of the student take AP and IB courses and have Nationally high ACT and SAT scores.

Arizona-

Chandler HS- Is overall a Blue Ribbon school and has averages comparable to some privates.

Chandler has an elite Football and Baseball program but they don't have it going for em in anything else...

Who told you Chandler had an elite baseball program? They've had three losing seasons over the past six seasons (including the 2017 and 2016 seasons) and hasn't played for a baseball state championship since 1972. They do have a great track and field program  (especially on the girls side) but as it pertains to baseball they have been largely mediocre as a program.

Taking into account the full picture of Arizona public schools  (academics, athletics, etc) Sunnyslope High is the best overall school in the state; they've been recognized by US News and World Report as one of Arizona's top public schools in terms of academics  (they were the only "inner-city" school recognized as such), and have won multiple state titles in boys basketball, baseball, boys swimming, girls volleyball, and girls badminton. Their football team has also had success, winning their league in 2013-15, 2017, and produced the 2001 state player of year.

West Monroe High School (LA) is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  87 percent of WMHS students who took the Advanced Placement test passed the examination, the highest rate in the state. The band received consecutive Superior ratings at Marching and Concert festivals since 1966. The band consists of 200 students. In 2014, the band appeared in the London New Years Day Parade in Westminster, UK. The band has appeared in two Presidential Inaugural Parades, George W. Bush in 2005 and Donald Trump in 2017. [5] The band was one of only 7 high school bands invited. The band has also been invited to the Louisiana Showcase of Marching Bands in 2014, 2015, and 2016. In those years, they placed 11th (2014), 6th (2015), and 5th (2016) in the state of Louisiana.  Choir is equally as good.  Sports ain't bad either, WMHS has been district champs in football for the past 22 years and has 8 Louisiana 5A Championships and 2 National Championships.  Last year WMHS went to the semi-finals in basketball and finals in baseball as well.  Boys and girls power lifting are among the top in the state.

Sounds like the band is better than the football team
