Bormio
She has the right to ask the lady to leave. But to be truthful, it was rude to do so (just like not baking the wedding cake was rude). It also shows the owner takes politics far too seriously. There is no more a rabid partisan than James Carville. Despite that, he is married to a woman who not only is Republican, but one who thinks Trump is doing a great job. Because at the end of the day, Carville knows not to take politics too seriously, not to let it color every part of your life. A point lost on the owner of the Red Hen - who could not even serve a restaurant meal to someone working in the White House.

She was asked to leave. She was even told why. Sounds pretty polite to me. She politely left. End of story.

Private businesses should be able to operate how they want. At the same time for society’s sake... She should have continued to serve her because politics isn’t everything. The baker should have baked the cake, but since he didn’t want to, the couple should have said “f you” and taken their business elsewhere. The whole country needs to recognize the fault on their own side here and tone it all down. My wife is a Democrat, my best friend is a socialist. Who cares? They’re good people and we all recognize politics isn’t the totality of each other’s worth.
