BRILLIANT! Ted Cruz Calls For $14 Billion Seized From El Chapo To Fund Border Wall

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has a brilliant idea on how to fully pay for the border wall between the U.S. and Mexico.

Cruz introduced the Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order (EL CHAPO) Act on Tuesday, which calls for the use of $14 billion seized from cartel drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman to be used to pay for the wall.

“Fourteen billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border,” Cruz stated.

“Ensuring the safety and security of Texans is one of my top priorities,” he added.

Cruz said using criminally forfeited assets from El Chapo and other Mexican cartel members and drug dealers can “offset the wall’s cost and make meaningful progress toward achieving President Trump’s stated border security objectives.”

“The U.S. Government is currently seeking the criminal forfeiture of more than $14 billion in drug proceeds and illicit profits from El Chapo, the former leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel who was recently extradited to the U.S. to face criminal prosecution for numerous alleged drug-related crimes, including conspiracy to commit murder and money laundering,” Cruz added.

The EL CHAPO Act is the second piece of legislation that Cruz has introduced this month to allocate billions in funding for the border wall.

I agree with cruz. We should use that money for the wall

Mattis did not retire.  He quit in protest of Trump and his betrayal of the United States with our allies. His letter rebukes Trump.

This is not about Left or Right.  It is about America and who genuinely loves and is loyal to our country.

There are far too many heroic, patriotic Americans who are now gone because of Trump.

My answer to above post - he will not get credit from the Left.

He is retiring due to wanting to be in Syria for longer. Trump said absolutely not. There is no reason to be in Syria any longer. Mattis then said I will retire then.

Thank you for your time general Mattis. Moving on to the next secretery of defense. Nobody will lose sleep over it

We are also pulling out of Afghanistan.  Watch any tv channel and listen to what the Generals and Admirals are saying about Trump and his betrayal of American interest to our allies.

Mattis, Kelly, McMasters-they are all gone because of Trump.

What are we accomplishing at this point?  Are we doomed to send troops everywhere and never bring them home?

A Secretary of the Defense has never-ever before-resigned in protest in American history.

From Joe Scarborough to Nicole Wallace to John McCain to George W. Bush (who voted for Hillary) to myself:  not from the Left.

This is about America-not Russia or Saudi Arabia who bailed Trump and his family out when nobody in America would lend him $3 billion dollars after his six bankruptcies.  Who needed an efficient outlet to launder money.  A Russian bank which is sanctioned in the U.S. is in line to loan Trump the $2+ billion he needs to build the 1,600’ tall Trump Tower in Moscow City Crntral which will be the tallest building in Europe.  The tower cannot be built unless the sanctions are removed to allow the Russian bank to fund it.  Putin will have s $50 million penthouse in the Trump tower comped to him (a bribe).

There is much more but we need our allies-not Russia, Saudi Arabia and several others.
