954gator
Truth is all of these points systems generally allow teams to look for teams that will have a good record, and not actually good teams. No one is going to want to play a team like BTW that might lose 3-4 games because their schedule is actually tough.
954gator
Who's generally going to be tougher... a 3-4 loss Booker T Washington or an undefeated Pinellas Park? 1

I just hope they get the OOS factor correct. This is a bit of the problem. I don't think the system they use gets the strength of schedule part down.
954gator
It needs to be more complex than just your opponents and opponent's opponents win/loss records. Until the playoffs, most regions in FL are like their own little states and although OOR (OOS) games happen they don't happen enough for a system like this to be able to judge strength. So it will reward teams like Hawthorne and Pinellas Park for being undefeated. I mean their opponents probably win games too because the area sucks... A system like this could work if they somehow had a system to determine out of region schedules. Every team would have to play at least 3 teams from outside their region. Maybe that way it would work out, but then the big players will have to play 3 teams they might not feel like playing.

Exactly. Booker T missed the playoff the same year they were no worse than 3rd in the classification. Meanwhile you got teams in the middle of nowhere where the Librarian works at the Waffle House, and the cops call you by your last name go undefeated and get high AP rankings and auto bids to the playoffs.

Yeah it promotes safe scheduling.

I think he's one of the best in that class, BUT it's early and I think EVERYONE is going to be on him hard. Hope it sticks. He was a stud as a soph.
