Spent probably a good 10-15 mins talking to one of the players only to later find out that he had showed up to school and practice despite knowing there was an actively diagnosed COVID case in his immediate family who he had had close interaction with. Kind of reaffirmed my view that we're not long for this fall season because kids will be kids. I think there is a lot of pressure on the kids right now. Not only do they want to play themselves and want stuff to be normal, but, covering up potential exposures and even symptoms could be the norm considering how many people are depending on them to play/remain healthy/not get the virus/etc. due to the protocols. I don't think it can be quantified the amount of pressure these kids may be feeling right now to be honest.
HawgGoneIt
Imagine if a coach isn't all in wholesale on the seriousness of the virus, and how that is impressed upon the team. Then imagine a kid at practice with a bit of a runny nose and a slightly sore throat, hiding the parts of symptoms that aren't readily obvious because he doesn't want to cause his team to miss the game this week, or practice or whatever. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Newnan HS has delayed the season indefinitely after 110 players where exposed to a Coronavirus positive athlete during a practice...
