Is that old bastard Drummer still alive ?  'Noon, this is my take. If noise and excitement are quality indicators it's the orange Trumpkin in a landslide. But all that "frenzied hero worship" aside Biden might still pull it off. Highy populated Dade, Broward, and Palm go BLUE. No funny ballots this time....fingers crossed. Leon County (FSU,FAMU,TCC) and Alachua County (UF, Santa Fe CC) always go BLUE too. That leaves the all important super fast growing " I-4 Corridor" to put Old Joe over the top. This St. Pete/Tampa on the west to Daytona Beach on the east has morphed from red, to purple/blue in a few short decades. The inflex of hispanic residents, mainly Puerto Ricans and Mexicans, the growth of union tourist/service industry jobs, and the exploding 70,000 politiically aware student population of UCF are all rapidly changing the voting dynamics. They call Florida the biggest toss up. I see BLUE......#sleepyeyedlefty  :)

insightful...good post.

question, how many students are not on campus with covid lockdowns etc. ?

ALL the college towns around here are empty and going bankrupt...

If it is like that by you, it would be a large impact 🤷‍♂️

PS: saw something about the younger student vote...these are (supposedly) the younger students who are now the college vote.  thoughts?

With my limited exposure I'm shooting from the hip on this one. UCF has a very large and active segment of it's student body that leans left and progressive. They get alot of press and appear to be quite large in numbers. Most of the campus is now open to students. After Thanksgiving all classes will be virtual. It didn't lock down like USF (Tampa). I would find it hard to believe they would sit out this election in mass wherever they have hunkered down. Locally Bethune-Cookman University just suspended all in class learning and asked students to GO HOME (giving them until Nov. 20). How and in what percentage these young adults feel the civic duty to participate in the voting process would only be a wild quess on my part. With my limited interaction with this age group one gets the impression they are more serious and focused then my 1970's peer group. Talk about a low bar to surpass....

lol on the low bar 😂

Seems similar to here, don't know any college putting in a full semester on campus.  Any that allowed students on campus at all, are sending them home at Thanksgiving, but most here have no students on campus.

I think you may be right in the comparisons, this latest (current college) generation seems much more focused than even those just a couple years older than them.

as far as voting, any campus recruitment seems dead, and that has got to hurt the left.  Whether they wind up voting at home or not, remains to be seen i guess. 🤷‍♂️
