Cal Preps Top 25 teams per league

Below is a list of leagues which have more than (1) team in the Cal Preps Top 25

Trinity league has 3 teams:  #1, #2, #22

"Freelance" has 2 teams: #3, #9

"North Jersey Super United Red" has 2 teams: #8, #12

No other league has more than (1) team in the Top 25.

North Jersey Red/White add #35, #37, #58 for a  respectable showing in the Top 60

Greater Catholic (Ohio) adds #21, #50

The Top programs in Texas 6a are dispersed among many Districts/Leagues

Top programs in Ga are dispersed among (4) playoff divisions: 7A - #11; 6A #32; 5A #57; 4A #42, #59 (4a may have the toughest playoff division)

Top programs in Fla. are also dispersed among various playoff divisions: 6A #17, #33; 7A #14, #39; 5A #16, #41

Sad that Ga and Fla can't get these Top teams into a single playoff bracket like the other Top 5 power states do.

This is after Cal Preps "tweeked" their formula.

BC is the CP #8 team in the Country!!!!  No one kills the CP #8 team in the Country.  Impossible.  BC is the BOMB this year. Just watch them roll everyone.  MD hasn't won a state championship since 1996.  That is 20 years!  Sad.

BC was made #8 because they play MD. To help MDs rating when they play them.

The winner gets #9 DLS.

#Gauntlet

CP not worth discussing until October when it becomes the gold standard reference for national hsfb

MD won CIF in 1999.

MD has never won a state title, there wasn't one to win

I think it's safe to say they didn't win state in '99 since DLS beat them 42-0

kniw you knew that but thought some context warranted

Dj Williams doing work.

MD game-planned for Williams, then Lad had a skinny sophomore QB throw 6 TDs

i don't think there's a Matt Gutierrez on campus but DLS has a kid they think can sling it this year and being 2-dimensional will be their key to being an elite team.  Defense will be there and so will ground game against 99.9% of teams but can't have no passing threat against elite Ds that'll put 8 D1 kids in the box

Gold standard according to who?

The state rankings might be ok in October... but CalPrepd will never be even close to a bronze standard... state scaling.

Why?

So you think the problem is that the state associations don't meddle enough in the classifications?

Yes sir.

Nothing like a preseason fairytale gauntlet announced before any games have actually been played.

What are the chances that it actually ends up like that?

Fat.

4A is not the toughest Playoff bracket and Sammy if GA put all their Top teams in a single playoff Bracket that would shatter the classification system.

Ga Divides their schools based on population....

For example Cartersville 4A has around 1200 students... vs Schools like Colquitt 7A with 2600 students...

If we did like every other state that would require for us to have a hefty amount of Private powers....

And we only have 2 realisticly.....

Benedictine and maybe Marist....?

Historically, Marist is a power.

Historically sure, but Marist hasnt been that good in years.

I remember in 96 & 97 they played Bolles. In 96' Bolles was #2 in the country... and Marist lost 22-16. The next year Marist beat them 44-12 or something close to that.

They also beat Godby(17-14) & Belen Jesuit(27-0) FL to the dismay of Canes.

I'm not at all dismayed that people from other states raise any victory over a Florida school to the level of great achievement.

You must dislike the College football playoffs too, and March Madness.  Sad

Calif keeps their classifications too and awards CIF championships and even has a couple lower level SBG, based on classification

BUT.... Calif has figured out how to peel off approx. 17 of the State Top 30 and usually the entire top 10, and put them in a single bracket for the "Open" State Championship

College football and college basketball are broken up into Divisions. Just like Florida high school football.

What's sad is your poor attempt at an analogy.

Once they have an open division then they're not keeping their classifications.
