This will be the first time since 2015 that Bergen will play 3 OOS opponents. It will also be the first time since 2012 that Bergen will not play St Peters. That one is very surprising. If The Marauders are deliberately dodging us, then that is very sad.

Is Massillon going to be any good this year?

Certain poster would say they have no talent.

Quick rundown:

Defense was probably the best in the state, easily toss up between Massillon and Hoban though. Massillon returns only 3 starters, all 3 have mostly MAC offers. NT, Safety and OLB.

Offense brings back the most, but lost the key piece from last year which was the dual threat qb. Ran for 1400 yards and threw for almost 1600 yards. Return 3 receivers from last year, and add a 4th receiver that got a MAC offer as a freshman. Return 3 running backs, 2 have MAC offers. 3 lineman comeback, RT has MAC offers and the LT has SEC and Big 10 offers. Senior qb was starter freshman year, sophomore year, was hurt junior year while sharing duties with the dual threat. He slings it more than running and led the team to a win over St Ed’s his junior year.

Hopes this gave a little insight, tldr like 9-10 kids with MAC offers and 1 with Big Ten/SEC.

Im sure Bergen has them beat in talent but it’s gonna be hostile environment and Massillon has went 49-7 over the last 4 seasons. I’m sure they will put up a good fight.

Massillon's hometown refs are some of the worst in the sport. BC has no chance in this respect. Last season St John's from Washington DC quit their game with Massillon with 6 minutes left because they had enough of them. Had to be bad for them to do that.

Yeh, you sound dumb. Those St Johns kids couldn’t handled the physicality. They started to get chippy after the qb was scrambling and got hit as he went into a slide and the coach called it at that point.

So they're gonna suck?

Thanks.

Who knows, should still be a top team in Ohio. We shall see how they do against the out of state games. One more should get added, not sure against who yet. So far Dematha and Bergen are the highlights along with St Eds all within 4 weeks.

This has the appearance that it would've been a much better game ... a year ago.

Agreed, the defense was the highlight from last year, gonna be tough with them losing so many pieces.`

The weren't even a top 10 team in Ohio the year prior according to calpreps.

If they're losing 8 starters on defense and their QB then I'll be against you on that one.

Regional seeds get flipped often. So they caught Hoban in semis rather than finals like this year. Win over Ed’s(Ohio #1), two losses were against Moeller(#3) and Hoban(#5) which were top 50. If you think Marion Local is top 10 I got bad news for you.

Refs were clearly one sided. Was it the refs fault too that Massillon converted a 2nd and 42?

Don't be angry. You should be delighted that you're guaranteed being undefeated at home each season especially vs teams from outside Ohio. Both Middletown Delaware and St John's have stated they'll never return to Mass due to the ghastly and biased officiating.

Thats just straight up false considering Middletown reached out to return a 2nd year cause they enjoyed the trip. Doesnt matter anyways they werent good. Also Massillon is 1-3 in home openers last 4 years, so good logic there.
