How true.....

For example (last 4 weeks)

St. Xavier beats Moeller 31-7

Moeller beats St. Ignatius 41-20

St. Ignatius beats St. Xavier  28-14

Perfect example of Ohio's D1 this year, and just what can happen on a give day.

As for StX, 2 closest games for them before the loss to St. I's

Could not run the ball against Colerain

Could not run the ball against Elder

Could not run the ball against St. Ignatius

Without a consistent run game, teams will bring everything against Wolf.

Look to see how they rebound against a good Lou. StX team (8-1), only loss to Trinity.

The Bombers should be a 14-17 point favorite over The Tigers!!!

I think you nailed it with X...... Others may disagree, but I don't think X has a run game that can really threaten other great teams......which puts a lot of pressure on Chase Wolf to perform, especially if teams bring the pass rush.

Wolf simply had a bad game against Iggy........whereas he was pinpoint accurate against Colerain.

No he wasn't. Statistically, the Colerain game was his 2nd worst of the year.

He certainly was in the 4th, when the majority of the passes were thrown.

Earlier in the game, X was trying to thrown down field or across the middle, which wasn't going to work against Colerain's secondary, whom is probably the best secondary in the state. When they adjusted and started throwing the quick timing routes in the hurry up, he was on point.

He had a heckuva quarter. Agreed.

I guess the question is why they didn't adjust earlier.

My guess is a combination of wanting to control the clock with a size advantage on the lines, added to the risk of Colerain jumping one of the routes for a pick 6.........

By the 4th with Colerain up 14-0, it kinda became necessity.
