I went to New Orleans for a little road trip with the fam. 

The food was good. We went to a Tulane football game and that area was nice. Walking around the French Quarter in the daytime was interesting. We had a good time. 

But the one thing that stuck out was the entire city looked like a 3rd world country. Everywhere you went looked like the worst area of town. But it was the whole town! 

I even joked to my wife l, I said where do the athletes and celebrities live? Lol. Just think of the worst neighborhoods of the city you live in. That's the entire city of New Orleans. 

Was not impressed

Sad watching people post that know absolutely nothing about anything. Why do they do it is one of life's greatest mysteries. Internet, I guess. Twitter and FB are full of these type know nothing trolls.

They are trying to piss you off never mind the fact that Louisiana has been a Red state forever. These individuals are better suited for the "Know Nothing Party" of the 19th century as in fact their serious lack of knowledge is an impediment to civil society in modern day USA.

JUst curious, as a man of color, why do you communicate with Redzone in a positive manner on here? Is it because he is a liberal like yourself? Does the hatred for “THEY” and Trump outweigh a man who openly called another black on this forum a N.....? 

Its amazing that almost all minorities on this MB communicate with the bigot from Louisiana on here positively now except for DD who he called a N....  I think it’s simply because many of you hold politics over reality.

I have been on this board for 13 months. During that time, Red Zone, or his predecessor names, has never attacked me in a racial manner. That is more than I can say about several other individuals on this board. I am not aware of what occurred between Red Zone and Devil Dog. I respect DD and if RZ used the N word in a debate with him, it was wrong. 

With the above said, I can't honestly say that in the posts I have read to which he contributed, that he has uttered anything that I found overly racial. Again, there are several others on this very board that I cannot say that about. I could list several names, but won't bother as I think you know who they are. 

From my perspective, regardless of Red Zone's attitude to race, he has seemed, to my way of thinking, to be a reasonable person. From my perspective, I don't post on this board or any other for that matter to make friends. Over the years, from posting on various Florida Football boards I have made a few friends. Dan in Daytona comes to mind. But it was never been an objective of mine to do so, as I have enough in life to occupy me. 

My main reason for posting on here, aside from high school football during the season, was to debate individuals that I though would be fairly knowledgeable on a number of topics. While I have found a few such individuals, I have to admit that I have been dissatisfied, overall, with the quality of debate as it has been overly partisan and often bereft of both knowledge and intelligence.

Drummer, to be totally honest, I have always been transparent on this board. I have no hidden agendas and my points of view are always clearly expressed. I make no apologies for what I believe and don't expect others to do so for their beliefs. 

With that said, however, I do like civility. I have a clear distaste for mean, nasty, personal attacks, especially when they are dishonest and there is no substance behind them. I disdain those that are dishonest and disingenuous. 

My preference for European style Democratic Socialism, stems from my belief that Capitalism though dynamic is fundamentally unstable. To my way of thinking, without sensible regulations and controls, capitalism will destroy itself. Another reason is the fact that I don't believe in letting the poor and destitute die as happened, for example, in the Fairy Tale, "The Little Match Girl." For I do believe that to a degree we are our brothers' keeper. If I were a Marxist, I would say let's do it, let's have unbridled capitalism that will result in collapse and revolution! But I am not. I am not because I believe that Marx's proposition of communism is Utopian.  It is Utopian in the sense that such a system flies in the face of both historical experience and human nature. 

As such it is my preference to have a "controlled capitalism", which I think is the only viable system that can last into the foreseeable future without repression and a serious erosion of human rights. 

With that I am out. You are fee to attack and chastise me if it makes you feel good about yourselves. But it won't do anything to assuage your inner demons which some of you seem to have deeply embedded in your souls.

Just FYI, ChipDumbRacist not only called DD a n*****, but he later doubled down, effectively saying calling a black man a n***** is justified "when needed".

Chip is a mom jean wearing, muffin top piece of shit.
