Quarterback General Booty is back in Orange County.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound sophomore has enrolled at JSerra, Lions football coach Pat Harlow confirmed.

Booty played last season at Cornerstone Christian in San Antonio, Texas under his father Abram, a former standout wide receiver at LSU.

He spent his ninth-grade season with Corona del Mar’s 10-0 freshman team.

Booty also is the nephew of former USC quarterback John David Booty. His grandfather served as the athletic director at Cornerstone.

Last season, Booty completed 59 percent of his passes for 2,249 yards and 19 touchdowns in 10 games for Cornerstone Christian (7-3).

He also had a successful freshman season at Corona del Mar.

“(He) was competing for the varsity job going into his sophomore season before transferring to Cornerstone Christian,” Corona del Mar coach Dan O’Shea said. “(He) came up through our youth Newport Beach Seahawks program.”

Booty could be in the mix to replace JSerra quarterback Caden Bell, who will be a freshman at Columbia in the fall. Bell helped JSerra (9-3) finish third in the Trinity League and reach the CIF-SS Division 1 quarterfinals.
