I think we actually have a version of that in the High Desert.

But I, myself, don't count anything east of Anaheim as part of CA, except when the Huskies are doing well on a national stage.

Vineagroons arent really a pest here though... theyre mainly in heavy swampland areas....the biggest pest I have where i Live is lady bugs and Praying Mantis.... but the one thing That pesters us more than any bug in coastal GA aside from gnats.... Dammed seagulls....

It could be worse... 

You could find one in your food... 

They actually are used for Biological Pest control. 

They eat mice,Centipedes,Roaches,Bed bugs,Assassin Bugs and beetles...
