I think it makes sense to split the private and publics in the playoffs.

Marist-Catholic

Lovett-Non-Denominational/Episcopalian ties and history.

Benedictine-Catholic

St.Pius X-Catholic

Greater Atlanta Christian-Christian

Westminster-Christian

Wesleyan-private prep

Mt. Paran-Christian

North Cobb Christian

The 1A private schools-Mostly Catholic and Prep Schools

These are the privates that play in the GHSA.

 No.

There was once a petition for the GHSA to take all thise private schools and group them together in there own GHSA branch.

But it died immediately.

Alot of the privates play up.

Example.

Marist(4A)and St.Pius X(5A) Marist should be 2A but they play in 4A by choice.

St.Pius X should be 3A but they play up by choice also.

Gotcha. But is there such a gap between the privates and publics like there is in NJ NV PA etc

Yes except its reverse.

The Publics are far ahead of the privates.

If I had to rank the privates in order of how well they keep up with the publics.

1. Benedictine

2. Marist

3. GAC

4. Blessed Trinity

5. Westminster

6. St.Pius X

7. Lovett

Well then i guess you could still split them because the publics are so far ahead of the publics. Were the public championship would mean more then the private.

Rapid transferring to Privates like you see in CA and NJ would wave a red flag and the GHSA would immediately begin to investigate.

Also to my knowledge alot of the privates hand out aid like that.

SO the GHSA would have a problem with kids transferring to a school of their choice because its a private school?

Give it 2-5 years.

GAC

Woodward Academy and Benedictine will be better than ever.

Simply because Woodward Academy is not confined to 1 county they can get kids from anywhere in the metro without catching any flak.

Same for GAC.

And Benedictine is a Catholic Millitary school that is under the diocese of Savannah that extends into South Carolina. They can get players from OOS if need be. Because of the type of school they are.

No thats 1 thing but what Im talking about is mass transferring like SJB and STA.

You shouldnt be able to stop that. If they are willing to pay or whatever and go to a private school it should be allowed. Thats why its a private school. Im choosing to go there instead of the public school. So now im willing to pay the public school taxes my property taxes as well as the tuition of the private schools
