Trinity Christian hadn’t played a game closer than 30 points this season. David Dallas, the Lions’ quarterback, didn’t mind that changing Friday night, as long as Trinity won.

Dallas, who is committed to Western Michigan, was 27-of-34 passing for 334 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns in the 48-45 victory over Eagle’s Landing Christian in the Class A Private semifinals. Dallas threw a 12-yard TD pass in the second overtime to win the game, putting Trinity within a victory of its first state championship.

“I can personally say that I have never been at or played in a more exciting game than last Friday night at ELCA,”’ Dallas said.

Dallas is GHSF Daily’s state Player of the Week. The award is sponsored by AstroTurf and Sports Turf.
