Grayson's front 7 on defense is as good as I have seen.  Big and fast run to the ball like wild men. Grayson should run the table till the 3rd round before another dog fight.

Archer is good again. They will give Grayson all they want this year.

But yeah after that, Grayson should be ok til the 3rd rd.

I'll give you 4 of the front seven, but 3 of the DL that started for Grayson are no where close

IF Grayson beats Archer, and thats a big if... and they get the #1 seed in 8A... theyll actually be tested in the 2nd rd... its not an easy path

Theyll play either Central Gwinnett or Norcross in the 1st rd... Neither of those teams is easy for a 1st rd opponent.

In the 2nd rd, theyd play either North Gwinnett or Mill Creek, basically whoever loses the regular season matchup between those 2 and both are strong this season... Mountain View is possible too...

In the Quarterfinals, it looks like Walton is the most likely team to make it... Walton looks very solid this season. Their strong Hoover 7on showing has transferred onto the field well...

In the Semis, North Cobb/McEachern/(Colquitt-Lowndes regular season loser)/Parkview .... Colquitt-Lowndes regular loser or McEachern seem the most likely opponent

Too many possibilities to name in the finals... maybe the Colquitt-Lowndes regular season winner, Archer, McEachern, etc

how can you guys already be projecting playoff matchups...  our seedings won't even begin to take shape until midway of the season and can still change pretty dramatically until the end of the regular season

Simply because as some of us have argued in some of these "small schools may be better than big schools" threads, there is a clear separation between a few of these schools/programs and the rest. People with a close watch and some knowledge of recent history can make some pretty good educated guesses at how it should shake out. All it takes is a couple of weeks to see if the teams are what you expected, and short some upsets or other extenuating circumstances, the regions start to take some shape.

Some regions are pretty difficult though. Region 1-6A is difficult again, although for a different reason than before. Looks like Lee County can be 1 and Coffee 2. The rest are a toss up, and those two could be reversed, but knowing that, and how the brackets are set up due to their posting on the GHSA site showing which seeds from which regions play each other first rd and etc., one can start playing "bracketology" pretty early in the season.

Ha Don't really like that system.

A lot of OOS people dont like Ohio's playoff system but most all Ohioans love the system compared to other states

Yeah, it has it's ups and downs. It's kind of easy to fill out the initial brackets for a few regions but it gets more difficult to guess at how those stack up to the later rounds until the season takes more shape.

You dont like 8 Regions consisting of 6-8 teams in a Class... top 4 teams in each Region make the playoffs?

Theres honestly no better way.

so you could predict the top 4 seeds in 5A now...

and you know the 1st round matchups?  Really

If I felt like doing pick ems on each team for the remainder of the season yes. If you really want to get technical I have an excel spreadsheet that has done it for me the past few years for D1. Again, minus whatever upsets that happen along the way. It's just math, and you picking the winners correctly and unlike Calpreps, it actually gets more accurate as the season progresses.

Don't like the predetermined bracket especially and automatically taking 4 teams from a region......and don't they do coin flips for tiebreakers? and non region games meaning very little.

I much prefer the seeding system
