@Atticus Finch was at the game and mentioned in response to 181 that their PK was a liability.  He saw pregame kicks.  

Apparently, 34 yards out was beyond the PK’s range.  Quite sad.   Usually, they’ll be a ⚽️ pickup for assistance.

Figured that would be the case.

A bit ridiculous that it’s 2023 and as a big school program you lost a very real chance at a State Title because there wasn’t one kid on that team that could make what should be an easy kick on the high school level.

Kind of a shame the difference between the two teams came down to that.

If MaxPreps soccer record is accurate, I’m not sure they have a kid who can kick a FG from 35 out, yikes.   

Still, you’re telling me/us that there’s not one kid in that  school who can’t Lou Groza from 35 out? C’mon.  

There’s a shy tuba player who can crank it from 45!  You just know it. 

1000+ or more tryouts, find that kid and treat him like the starting QB.

if they can kick an extra point, they could’ve kicked the field goal from the two. And if they can kick an extra point, they at least had a shot at the 30 something yarder. It’s ridiculous to think otherwise. You could drag 75% of high school soccer players on the field and they could probably make a 30 yard field goal. So long as there was an adequate snap hold and minimal blocking proficiency.

First of all, the ball was on the right hash. They had also missed like 6 extra points in just the games that I watched of them. Go look at their only loss other than the one on Saturday. It was 13-12. Wanna guess why they scored 12?

What's ridiculous is that some couch potato with provably *zero* clue about football is presuming to know than the head coach of the team himself.

Canes, next year hopefully there’s an open class and you guys will be playing complete football teams. They can maybe match up with STA. But I said earlier that this was probably the year to get you guys. So you’ll probably be champs next year too. Don’t worry you’re safe in here STA cocoon.
