They will be tearing down all these shiny stadiums in 5 to 10 years when they become outdated and build even shinier ones. On the Texas board there was discussion of a team that has a nice scoreboard with a nice video board as well needing to upgrade. I asked why and that several other schools had better ones and they have to keep up with the Jones so to say. 1 1

And all the stadiums hold between 8,000 and 10,000 people. 5A Sulphur, La built a brand new stadium a few years back for $8 million and it's one of the nicest stadiums you could ever hope to play in. It holds right at 9,000 people and has all the bells and whistles, and whatever. Maybe Cajuns are just smarter at building stadiums. What are you really getting for $60 million dollars? 😆 Sulphur's stadium clearly would be a dump in Texas. 👇 Lets not forget that Allen taxpayers got taken with their 60 mill stadium when they had to redo the foundation or something because it was already cracking prior to the first game there. Probably ended up costing over 80 mill. Lol

I think that keeping up with the Jones stuff is mostly a big city political thing, I could be wrong. East Texas Longview and Lufkin have very nice older stadiums. Longview stadium holds over 9,000 while Lufkin stadium holds over 11,000. These are the type stadiums you would most likely see in Louisiana Ruston, La will play 2 games at Longview Lobo stadium this year (Longview and Stephenville). When glory years Evangel Christian played Lufkin back in the day they squeezed 12,000 in and around that Lufkin stadium.

Ruston has an older stadium that seats about 6,500. Lots of History there. Ruston has a jumbotron and all that extra stuff. Just a common stadium though like you would see anywhere else in the nation.

Downtown Phoenix's Montgomery Stadium was the state's largest stadium until Sun Devil Stadium was built in 1958. Built in the mid-twenties, the 23,000-seat, single-sided stadium was the home field for old Phoenix Union High and hosted the Salad Bowl (essentially the Fiesta Bowl's stupidly-named forerunner). After sitting vacant for a few years the stadium was deemed "unsafe" and demolished in 1987; according to the old-timers the wrecking ball bounced several times off the "crumbling" stadium and it took three weeks to take down the stadium. Many of Union's old buildings have been repurposed for the biomedical campus, and with the AIA's struggles to secure a state championship game venue it would be nice if we had a mid-sized, centrally-located stadium 🙄 1

Past five years at Sun Devil Stadium and that's worked out mostly fine. With that said every other year there's hand-wringing over potential scheduling conflict when the ASU-UA game is in Tempe, and with the Cardinals being historically difficult in using State Farm Stadium we're left with no other viable title game option in metro Phoenix.
RedZone
St Aug's home field is Tad Gormley stadium in City Park. That's where St Aug will play Cardinal Ritter, MO this year (possibly ESPN). St Aug plays all their home games there. Other NOLA teams can use the stadium when St Aug has a road game. Capacity is about 27,000 It was once called City Park stadium. The Beatles played there in 1964. Lots of great concerts in that little stadium. The stadium was built in 1937 and they've done a great job keeping it up and they just put some brand new turf on it. Everything is old in NOLA, but well maintained.
