Unless DLS decides to go cover 0, I think the corners will have plenty of help containing the Reno Bros.

The younger Ngata is the starting RB. The 'other' WR is Elijah Badger, who was only a SOPH last year but is also a physical and fast receiver. He came to Folsom from Sheldon's program. He's the kid that beat Helix's all-world corner for a long score when he couldn't tackle him.

DLS will find it difficult to tackle both those receivers. One miss and they're gone. Plus they have the speed to take the top off. So it's a double edged sword. Then you have an extremely athletic QB to contend with that can run read option and a fast scat back with similarities to some of Centennial's good ones. In short, lots of options to keep the green machine's outstanding defense honest.

But per usual, the Spartans will have the edge on the lines which could negate some of Folsom's advantages. And we all know they can control the pace of a game with their veer if the opposition misses assignments, tackles and wears down.

This game could go in so many different directions. But it's so hard to bet against the program that has an active 288 game unbeaten streak north of Fresno.

DLS will break a lot of 40+ yard dive plays in the 2nd half. I see Folsom being up early and the just getting mauled in the later parts of the game...when your playing against the veer and you have to tackle a guy every play and he never has the ball is starts to mess your head...you need beef at DT to stop Coach Jesus’ offensive

I went into a bar/restaurant near Olympia, Washington a few years ago where they had over 100 tap handles from the beers they'd have over the years.  One of them was O'Doul's.  I asked if anyone ever ordered that.

The bartender smiled and said "When we saw someone was getting too drunk, we'd start serving that.  They never knew the difference."

I read that AV and Del Oro both helped out in terms of allowing them to tweak their schedules. I’m curious what Del Oro’s roles was.

From Maxpreps:

" Over the last few weeks, both programs worked their schedules hard to make the game happen. De La Salle, in fact, had its schedule completed with a week 0 game scheduled with Amador Valley (Pleasanton). But a coach on the Dons' staff had a good friend on the staff at Del Oro (Loomis), which needed an Aug. 17 game."

It sounds like Amador Valley will be playing Del Oro instead.

You are about a week late to the party.

By the way- The WCAL sucks.
