The ordinance states, "The possession, manufacture and sale of assault weapons in the Village of Deerfield is not reasonably necessary to protect an individual's right of self-defense or the preservation or efficiency of a well-regulated militia."

Who are they to determine what I need for my individual right of self defense. And Assault weapons are illegal. an AR-15 is not an assault weapon

A village of 18,000 people....

Clearly a bastion of drive bys, car jackings, and general mayhem....

Slow days for the village council...

<SARCASM>

But there's a town near me that requires you by law to own an weapon, so there's that.

The way it should be

It's meaningless as no weapons are made there as this  is an attempt at weak, soft and benign political correctness...There are those trolls that scour the news and net for little patches  of BS to further what will be a failed agenda...ILL Is a Democrat failed state with Libeal cities and one chaotic bastion of crime called Chicago.

If anyone turns over their guns voluntarily they are quite the moron

An IMPORTANT story about this pathetic state is that they are 203 billion in debt....Have a Democrat who is running Chicago into the ground, have about 500, 000 Muslims who also like the welfare give a ways for their ever reprducing wives and have the highest ratio of Muslims per capita in America...

This was from 2017 but this shows the fiscal health of states:

Best states all red states

Florda

Utah

Wyoming

North Dakota

South Dakota

Worst states

Maryland

Illinois

New Jersey

Kentucky

Mass

Another blue state CA is 429 billion in debt

California also has the worst poverty rate in the country and the most homeless people.

But it has low humidity. So it's fucking great.

I understand that there are some lawsuits against this ordinance currently, and that some folks think it unconstitutional or whatever.

The SCOTUS refused to even review a similar law in Maryland.

Interested to see how this one fares as it's just a city ordinance rather than a state ordinance.

I think Deerfield wins. There is precedent for this type of law already.
