Motivational and itā€™s the spring game, @HSFBfan Ā

Saban was caught on a hot mic saying the 3rd string qb can move the ball up and down the field better. From what I have read it sounds like the confidence in hurts Is done

Georgia will look a good bit different come game 1 from whatĀ they put on the field today.

Ā

A few guys are out or limited... Was wanting to see D'Andre Swift but hes sidelined with a groin injury. RB Zamir White is also still trying to recover from an ACL tear in HS last year.Ā Obviously true freshman EE Divaad Wilson went down with a ACL tear in spring practice also. UGAs top WR Terry Godwin was also out for todays G-Day game...

Georgias going to have to rely on true freshman in a few areas... One of those is at CB, and it sucks Divaad Wilson tore his ACL because from all sources he was playing great.Ā Ā

The OL is going to be solid. We are still finding that starting RT, but the 2 guys vying for it are both good... My money is on RS Freshman Isaiah Wilson. (Starting OL = LT Andrew Thomas (So.), LG Kendall Baker (RS Sr.), C Lamont Gaillard (RS Sr.), RG Ben Cleveland (Jr.), RT Isaiah Wilson (RS Fr.) or Cade Mays (Fr.)). The OL is probably the most stable group on GAs team right now.

Ā

We still have some talented freshman not on campus and will rely on many of them heavily... Itll be interesting to see who gets the most playing time out of Brenton Cox, Adam Anderson, Quay Walker, & Otis Reese... Of them, only Brenton Cox was an early enrollee, and he had 5 solo tackles & a sack in todays G-Day game...

Looking at UGAs freshman that will be joining the team this spring/summer...

5* OG Jamaree Salyer - he was the #1 OG in 2018, would start as a true freshman for most teams, but our OL is pretty stout, he may work as the 6th man in the rotationĀ along with Cade Mays

Ā 5* CBĀ Tyson Campbell - will most likely start from Day 1... Or at the very least play A LOT... Losing Divaad Wilson for this season makes Campbells arrival that much more important... Perhaps the most important freshman not on campus yet... Campbell was the #2 CB for 2018

5* OLB Adam Anderson - He'll play a lot this season,Ā he may have the highest ceiling of any of the OLBs UGA got in 2018, but he may need some seasoning...Ā  He was the #1 OLB in 2018

4* OLB Quay Walker - Quay will play, and play a lot... Brenton Cox has a head start at OLB over the other guys because hes an EE, but Quay looks like a kid that'll be ready the second he hits the field... Hes the #2 OLB in 2018

4* APBĀ James Cook - UGA is stacked at RB, Im not sure where Cook will fit in his freshman season, but White & Cook are a future thunder & lightning combo.. He was the #3 APB in 2018

4* TE Luke Ford - we are stacked at TE, but he'll play some.. The other TE FitzGerald will RS... He was the #3 TE in 2018...

4* OLB Otis Reese - he will play a lot, we need all the OLBs we can get... UGA had an elite OLB haul, and Reese is the most physical of the bunch... He was the #5 OLB in 2018... UGA pulled in 3 of the Top 5 OLBs...

4* ILB Channing Tindall - may be the 2nd most important freshman behind Tyson CampbellĀ this season for UGA...Ā  Losing Roquan Smith was huge, and filling his shoes is a tall order... Filling that role as a true freshman is almost impossible, but UGA needs an ILB that has wheels sideline to sideline... They have some options on the team already, but none are as talented as Tindall... Right now it looks like Juwan Taylor is the lead candidate for that job, but dont count out Tindall...Ā  He was the #5 ILB for 2018...Ā

4* WDE Azeez Ojulari - tore his ACL, so he'll sit this year... Was the #10 WDE for 2018...

4* CB Nadab Joseph - Nadab will play a lot at CB, and maybe at slot... Especially with fellow freshman Divaad Wilson out with an ACL tear... He was the #18 CB in 2018

4* WR Tommy Bush - we need a tall body like Bush, that can come in and catch those sideline jump-ball back shoulder passesĀ Fromm likes to throw... He was the #37 WR in 2018...

4* CB Chris Smith - will play some, Im sure Chris Smith will play some , bc UGA needs depth in the secondary... But he'll be behind fellow freshman Campbell & Joseph most likely... But who knows, he may be an instant star... Was the #30 CB in 2018

3* DTs Jordan Davis & Tramel Walthour - not the most highly rated guys in UGAs 2018 class, but we need big bodies on the DL after losing NT John Atkins, and DT Trenton Thompson... They wont start, but they'll provide depth this season... They were the #s 29 & 48 DTs respectively

3* OT Owen Condon - Condon is heading for a redshirt year, he was the #32 OT in 2018...

3* P Jake Camarda - was the #1 P in 2018, he'll duke it out with Marshall Long for the starting role...

3* TE John Fitzpatrick - heading for a Redshirt...

Of the freshman already on campus... Its pretty clear OLB/DE Brenton Cox & QB Justin Fields are going to be special...Ā  Weve yet to really see RB Zamir White do much, but hes getting stronger every day and will likely be ready to go by fall...

Ā

Ā

We also really need DeAngelo Gibbs back on the field... We need a slot guy and Gibbs can do it. Hes been away from the team for a while, but hes sidelined with a shoulder injury.

1 thing is for sure, we have A LOT of capable RBs ... D'Andre Swift, Zamir White, James Cook, Brian Herrian, Elijah Holyfield.... Thats a very crowded backfield.Ā  A lot is going to depend on where White is with his ACL recovery as to who is #2 or #3 back... Swift is undeniably #1...

Fields was also up against the #2 defense, which was struggling and looked lost.

Our #1 D unit is a lot stronger than #2. Fromm WILL start.

50/50 on a transfer, I can see the reasons to stay or transfer.Ā

His father said if he doesn't win the starting job he's gonna transfer. Now I can see him winning the job because tua is hurt. But he won't keep the job long. Tua is so much better.Ā

Better hope no injuries on the defensive side of the ball, if the second unit is THAT weak.Ā

Ā

We have Tyson Campbell going in at CB, and hopefully DeAngelo Gibbs coming back to take over the slot/nickel role.

It was said Divaad Wilson was having a great spring til he tore his ACL. And Nadab Joseph + Chris Smith are also coming in. Somebody will get bumped down to the 2nd unit.

Im not saying Justin Fields' success today was bc he was playing the 2nd unit... I was just saying remember that Fromm was playing our #1 D while Fields was playing the #2 D. Fromm was also without his favorite target, Terry Godwin.

Good to see DeAngelo Gibbs back.Ā

Great family.Ā

Jalen hurts is done at alabamaĀ

I donā€™t think he was ever going to unlock the potential firepower they have there. Ā Scary to think of Alabama going up tempo high scoring style but keeping that same defense. Ā That program is truly in a league of its own.

Someone hindered his ability. He has an arm and is a truck but he cant put it together. He doesnt have a lot of confidence throwing the ball. His WR was always annoyed with him because even when they were wide open Hurts wouldnt release the ball. With Tua they can run that high tempo offense your talking about which could be very scary for the rest of the country. Defense this year is going to be very good esp up front. And in the A-day game we didnt even see the incoming freshman class. If everything clicks with Tua at the helm I dont think Alabama losses a regular season game this year. And will more than likely see Georgia in the Dome for the SECCG

I concur. It should be Tua as #1 then Mac as #2.Ā

People keep talking about Jalenā€™s record as a starter... you didnā€™t have to be a great QB during 2016 and 17 at Bama to win a lot of games, especially in 2016 when Bama was historically good. Hurts was the reason why Bama didnā€™t beat Clemson in the rematch, not the reason they got there. He sucks.Ā

If Tua continues to get even better, this will easily be the best offense Saban has had at Bama. A great passing game plus that vintage physical ground game that we bring to the table to beat teams into submission.Ā

Exactly. Jalen record does not indicate how he plays. Yes hes 26-2 but left the defense out to dry against clemson in the 1st NC and if not for Tua Alabama would have lost to GA last year. Jalen just doesnt give defenses issues. They key on him running and try to make him beat them with his passing game as limited as that is.Ā
