abbatt
Good morning... Lincoln-Way East is 12-0, not 11-0. They will be playing Loyola Academy this Saturday at Loyola. It will be LWE`s toughest game this year. LA is playing great Defense now and they are very tough at home. I may go to the game on Saturday....it`s gonna be cold...projected highs in the high 20`s with wind chills around 15 degrees. Great weather for a big showdown. I`ll go with LWE by 31-17. The other game is a big South side showdown between 2 Catholic powers...Marist and Brother Rice. In the first game this year...BR won at home 20-16. This time its at Marist....I`ll take them 21-20. Warren Central looks like a lock in Indiana. Mishawaka is 12-1 with their only loss to Marist early in the year. Do you think they have a chance to win state in in their class ?

Thanks, had them at 12-0 on my worksheet, just inputted incorrectly. As far as Mishawaka, they have a very tough opponent this week in Fort Wayne Dwenger Dwenger destroyed unbeaten Angola last weekend after Angola had defeated the top ranked team in that class (4A) the week before. Should be a very interesting contest with the winner most likely facing Evansville Central in the championship game. You are probably correct with Warren Central. They struggled last week against a very game Lawrence Central team and have an improving Center Grove team this weekend who they only beat by eight in the first game of the season. Pops
Hmmm appreciate you always throwing something out for us to grumble about here’s some Grumbles — 2 TX schools in top 5 when neither have really played anyone of note much less any OOS triangulation? Dunno, I saw north shore at #5 first and thought “well, that’s not unreasonable and they seem to be the team the YX posters like best” then I saw Allen T #2 and thought “Nah” — couple of minor edits (you’ve given Carol City 2 losses and chandler an extra one) — Oaks is not top 20 but you’ve got company with that one — SFA in top 10 over teams that have challenged themselves and come away unscathed nice job overall and keep it coming

Shore is not a tier above Allen. They are dead even and will settle it on the field in a little over a month. For that matter LWE, although very strong this year, is still not on even keel with the likes of Miami Central, DLS, STA, etc. Maybe some adjustment is in order there. SFA is STILL a top 10-15 team in the nation. I wouldn't penalize them because other teams were scared to play them. If they go to the GEICO bowl game and get crushed because they have been playing patsies all year, then they will be ranked accordingly. (I don't think they will get crushed, though).

I would still have Wake Forest somewhere between Mallard Creek and Vance. They have won the last two 4AA state championships. I’m trying to figure out where Mallard Creek will land if they go on to win the title this year. They will likely have to face Hough, Vance and Richmond County in the western region and then Wake Forest in the title game. If they survive that and win I would imagine they would be somewhere around 25. Too bad the Dutch Fork game was cancelled. That would have given us a better indication of where they stand among the top teams.

As far as Mallard Creek, even if they win out, they are in that area that will be hard to move up from. They cannot get a real good signature win with their remaining schedule, so a low 40-high 30 rank maybe the best they can do. The Dutch Fork game would have helped. I've seen live a team that had Dalvin Cook and Joseph Yearby on it need a last second field goal to beat a team that didn't qualify for the playoffs. You were hyped that Naperville put it on one of the worse Trinity teams that they've ever fielded. You were hype about Semien beating Trotwood soundly. Trotwood proceded to miss the D3 playoffs in Ohio. Just because Ohio posters don't jump on here and prop of 25 teams doesn't mean that Ohio is down. I've said it multiple times on here. 20 for 20, Ohio is getting with any state and is just flat out better than 90 percent of them.

I won't pretend that Colerain's played a bunch of OOS elites, because they haven't...........but from 2005-2016 Colerain played at least one OOS team every year, sometimes 2. They travelled a few times also, albeit not very far. The reason they haven't played OOS the past 2 years is because their conference voted to move from 7 conference games to 8 conference games, leaving only 2 weeks open, and they already had contracts with their 2 neighborhood rivals St. X and La Salle.

abbatt
Guys, Maybe my comments are being misunderstood some. I have strong respect for the level of football played in Ohio. Great coaching...history and proven success over a long period of time. My argument is that Ohio football is not as strong as it was 8-10 years ago. i would have ranked the Buckeye state at number #3 behind Texas and Florida at that time...but now I would put them behind GA and the top teams from CA. Illinois has been trending up and whether you want to admit it or not..is basically pretty even with Ohio from top to bottom. I wish there would be more inter-play between the 2 states...home and home agreements. I just meant that Colerain hasn`t played OOS in the last few years....I`m aware of their previous OOS success.
