He wants state titles. Mythical MNCs don't mean anything to him. Winning the state does. We argue this point every year and I'm starting to agree with Hansen.

I usually defend Hansen..... but this is pathetic compared to BC, SJR, and Bosco.

At least he scheduled SJP the last two years. If sjp was on schedule you could give him some what of a pass ....

He must not be too confident w his squad this year.

Good for them. It's about state titles.

that is the biggest load of horsesh*t statement about SPP.....if it were about state titles then he would have scheduled the BIG 3 when his schedule permitted him to and out of the Hudson schedule.....all he cares about is a winning record ...and perception.....that got  4 titles in the modern area.....and are 4 - 11 in that span.......with the caliber of talent he gets that is a horrendous record......year in and year out he gets out coached.

I never said he didnt underachieve when it came to the goals of state titles. That is very obv he hasnt lived up to the amount of talent he has had on his teams.

And if your going for state titles why schedule the big 3. Might as well coast all year and be nice and rested for the playoffs. Again for the most part his strategy hasnt worked out but he has some some state titles but has underachieved a lot

that right there is the " loser mentality "....you schedule up to be prepared to face the best....Hansen did his team no favors when they played hudson county publics....outscoring the county like 350- 7 and then have to BC and Bosco and have no shot......when has a team had a creampuff OOS schedule like your bama...then win the states in NJ ????   ..rest is over rated compared to playing against the speed / size and coaching of these elite schools...........................

Cream puff OOS from bama?

What about when they play USC FSU etc etc. They are going to schedule the cream puffs before LSU and Auburn because it makes sense. You might as well be rested to play your 2 biggest games of the year.

So you lose 3-4 games a year. Go 5-4 and we sit here and say they had a bad year. Or go 8-1 and say they had a crap schedule but either way they are headed to the playoffs.

Spp won a state title with minkah and wimbush. They destroyed who they played PC I believe.

Nj teams are not going to win MNCs in the near future. It's about state titles. You get the bragging right around the state. I'm sure SJR is very happy winning the state title last year.

And there wasnt too many teams who had any shot against those bosco teams from 09-13. They destroyed people.

Bergen had 1 state title from 2004 til today. Do you think they would have liked to win more state titles?

you miss the point....it is about competition..pure and simple....does playing three NJ  publics help SJR or that public school for that matter....no.  just difference of opinion....you play to win against the best to prepare for winning the states.....as far as your college stuff....your OOS schedule can hurt your chances at making the playoffs....

There are kids who are playing in college who never played the best in hs ever. Those players in Wisconsin who played Wisconsin hs football never played the best hs football. No I'm not picking on Wisconsin hs football it just came to mind. There are a lot of kids in the top 100 top 250 in rankings that have never seen the best of hs football. Again to win the state. It's all about the state. Going around the country to get your butt kicked in some games really cannot be fun. Yeah we've seen some great games and competitive games. I can list them but we all know them. But at the same time it's about the state title at MetLife.

In terms of the college thing you bring up Alabama all Alabama has to do is win the sec championship game and they are in. and even if they dont they are in. Its called the Alabama invitational for a reason. Please bring on Clemson again. They have a nice easy slappy schedule.

other states are irrelevant in this discussion because of the unique circumstances in NJ of separate state championships for Catholic schools and finding relevant competition to play from a public school that does not become a blow out.....in your world...SJR should schedule Ridgewood / Montclair and Union city.....non competitive games do exactly what for them winning a state championship?  plus the suffer in the powerpoints for playoff seeding.....

The year they had wimbush and minkah they played a national schedule worthy of making them national champs hadnt they got robbed at IMG. You think it's a coincidence they destroyed PC after being battle tested all year??

Well never know if they just had the straight talent to win that game. PC couldn't stop minkah all day. Spp defense ate PC for defense. Can you say it gave them the edge sure. But well never know they played the schedule they played

Does it matter. Let's say sjr gets the 4 seed. They play some slap happy private school from south Jersey and move on.

You get the ring.....what is so bad about just winning the ring?
