Martell actually made plays with his arm. If you switch Martell with Re-Al in 2016, SJB beats Gorman. That was the difference in those two teams that year.

Well let's compare the stats from 2016:

Tate Martell: 2362 passing yards, 41 passing tds, 157.5 passing yards/game, 136 pass completions, 215 pass attempts, 1 interception

Re-al Mitchell: 2932 total passing yards, 30 passing tds, 195.5 passing yards/game, 198 completions, 294 passing attempts, 10 ints

From the stats, it looks as if Mr. Mitchell made quite a few plays with his arm. Now if you wanna nit pick about the interceptions, keep these two things in mind: when you have more passing attempts, there's a chance that there will be more interceptions and not all the interceptions were his fault (some coulda came from being tipped or bouncing off of the receiver's hands).

Mr. Mitchell made plays with his arm against teams that are outmanned. There was 3 defenses that year that he played that weren't going to get pushed around(At least the first time SJB played Mater Dei). He was abysmal.

Similar to guys in high flying offenses in college, that are playing against divison 2 teams and lighting them up for 600  passing yards.

Vs Gorman 9 for 18 105 yards 0 Tds 1 int

Vs Mater Dei 8 for 14 117 yards 0 TDs 2 int

Vs Mater Dei 6 for 10 61 yards 0 TDs 1 int

24 for 42 283 yards 0 TDs 4 int

1-2 in those games. Winning the last game in spite of him.

2017

Vs STA 9 for 21 70 yards 0 TDs 3 int

Vs SJC 19 for 24 201 yards 0 TDs 2 int(His best game statistically)

0-1 with one no contest(He would've lost the SJC game if DJ didn't come in)

28 for 45 271 yards 0 TDs 5 ints

Against top competition in 5 games he was

52 for 87 554 yards passing with 0 TDs and 9 ints

Record 1-3-1 NC The game that he won, his team rushed for 386 yards, and he's being given the credit by some of you for leading SJB
