Even McConnell understands this - he said there will be a Senate trial. There is a process and you do not try and game the system. Game-playing makes it clear the whole effort is not serious. If you don’t want a trial, you don’t impeach. 2 weeks of bad polling on this will correct Pelosi’s attitude quickly. All this move would do is demonstrate to the masses (who are already souring on impeachment in the first place) that the democrats were never really serious about "doing their solemn duty" in the first place. If Nancy wants to try and salvage any political points out of this whatsoever, submit the articles and make Justin Amash one of the case managers.
