I don't know. BUT, you use wins vs the Calpreps Top 1000 a lot, more than anyone....... seems like you would have to accept that Top 20 ranking last year.

It was a Covid year.

A bunch of teams in South Florida didn't even play 5 games.

Hence why it had Berkeley Prep ahead of teams like TRU Prep, Deerfield Beach and Atlantic who would beat them easily.

They wouldn't be top 20 in South Florida let alone the whole state.

Doesn't matter a great deal either way.......it's a step up for Newman. Newman isn't all that, but they do have some interesting players this year.

Berkeley Prep is loaded this year. They only graduated 9 seniors off the roster last year, but they bring back all of their linemen, which was the strength of their team.

They also bring back the two star RB's, Xavier Townsend and Travis Bates. They have a star TE in Xavier Perkins who just committed to Florida. They are breaking in a new QB, but Coach Ciao is a smash mouth coach.

Defense is star studded with two high quality linebackers TJ Bullard (Son of WWE star Titus O'neil) and Tre Reader. D.J Hooker in the secondary. The corner's a bit weaker, but the front 7 should generate a lot of pressure!

They did graduate RJ Garcia and Austin Dean, which were big contributes last year, but they are very, very stout. The only bad thing about Berkeley is that they are unlikely to add transfers due to school policy not to accept Junior or Senior transfers. Right now, we are big on Berkeley, but we aren't silly.

CCC has added 7 transfers and we aren't in summer yet which is their prime transfer season. If they find a solid running back, which they will, they'll likely end up becoming the favorite in region 3.

Chaminade is still loaded, but they are very, very young this year.

Yeah. She is all in with 3A. But she is very knowledgeable about the teams. Not where they rank in the bigger picture but she’s pretty thorough with the breakdowns

I find it funny that school who can't even win their own state title is playing an OOS game. Newman in known for the Mannings nothing else.  The should play Catholic, Edna Karr, or JC.

No, no, and no.

Let the small schools play small schools.

But if ESPN gets this game...I'm not watching.  Too many good players on both teams to listen to them drool over Manning all game (again).

Can't do it...

ESPN needs to do games with good teams not 1 or 2 star rated players.

Few years ago Hoover played Pinson Valley with 5 star qb Bo Nix final was Hoover 52-14 could have been 80-14.  Hoover did not even win state that year.

Teams need to be at least a top 250 team in the nation.

Years ago CBS used to talk Tebow all game long even if Florida was not playing.

Arch Manning is better than Bo Nix.....and Newman will end up having 6-7 players with "stars"....probably more than Hoover.

With all that talent why can't they win state?

Because Lafayette Christian (Lafayette, La) has more......and, Newman has never had this much talent.

Lafayette Christian has won 4 State Championships in a row........much talent for a little private school....The Real LCA has a nice schedule this year which includes D1 State Champ Catholic-BR and 5A Champ Acadiana.....LCA had John Curtis on their schedule, but that one didn't pan out.

LCA and Newman are the favorites in D3 this year.

There's a reason why Nick Saban recruits Louisiana so heavily.

For a bunch of years Newman played in the same 2A District as John Curtis......back when Curtis played small class ball and dominated, Really not so long ago.

Anyways, will throw the Curtis schedule in the thread. It's ok.

2021 John Curtis Football Schedule

W1 @ Central Lafourche
W2 Opponent TBD (Battle on the Border)
W3 Christian Life Academy (Chester, VA)
W4 @ St. Augustine*
W5 Louisville Male (KY)
W6 @ Archbishop Shaw*

W8 @ Holy Cross*
W9 Archbishop Rummel*

John Curtis won’t return the trip to Lake Placid? Pussies. And you were complaining about Hoover not going back to Louisiana but your pussy teams won’t man up and travel.

Arch Manning picks up Notre Dame offer...

Notre Dame Offers Elite 2023 QB Arch Manning

BRYAN DRISKELL

Notre Dame has already thrown out a lot of offers to 2023 prospects, and arguably the nation's top quarterback - New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman's Arch Manning - is a recipient of one of those offers.

Manning is ranked as the nation's No. 1 overall quarterback in the 2023 class by 247Sports. The 6-3, 200-pound signal caller passed for 1,643 yards and 19 touchdowns in a Covid-19 shortened 2020 season. That came a year after he threw for 2,438 yards and 34 touchdowns as a true freshman for the Greenies. Manning also rushed for 229 yards and eight scores as a sophomore.

Expect Manning to be one of the more heavily recruited players in the 2023 class. Notre Dame's offer means he now has offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Florida State, Arkansas and Duke.

Manning is the son of Cooper Manning, the nephew of Super Bowl winning quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning, and the grandson of College Football Hall of Fame quarterback Archie Manning. The youngest Manning's father, uncle Eli and grandfather all went to Ole Miss, while Peyton played at Tennessee.
