OldTerrapin
ATLANTA - Atlanta Police on Thursday confirmed they arrested Melvin Williams, 36, for allegedly shooting into a Subway restaurant after employees put too much mayonnaise on his sandwich. Williams is charged with murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. At the time of the shooting, court records show Williams was out of jail on bond for a March 2021 domestic violence incident involving the mother of his child and should not have had a gun. According to an Atlanta Police Arrest Citation, Williams "put his hand around her neck, choking her." The woman fell to the floor unconscious and dropped the child, who she had been holding. Investigators charged Williams with aggravated assault--family violence and third-degree child cruelty. He was released on $10,000 bond and ordered not to have any alcohol, drugs, nor weapons. That case is still pending. Jail records show Williams had multiple arrests from 2006 to 2012 for minor crimes including criminal trespass, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and reckless conduct. He was never convicted of a crime, however, until 2015 when he pleaded guilty to burglary and aggravated assault charges for breaking into his downstairs neighbor's apartment and later getting into a physical altercation with the same neighbor about the crime.

Last Updated on Thu, 12 May 2022 | Gun Laws The price for stolen “street corner” guns has not changed in the last 24 months. If you are selling, a handgun gun will bring three to five rocks of crack. Long guns are harder to conceal and a prized Parker double or a prewar Mauser sporter may only bring two rocks. That is subject to your “street cred,” of course. You get less if you are not “known” to the street corner gun and pharmaceutical salesman making the deal; more if you are an ex-con with a large caliber handgun with several loaded magazines; and top rock for assault styled firearms. Above that – a real honest Injun AR16, Thompson “Tommy Gun,” or other full auto weapon will bring a thousand bucks or more – but most of those are “promoted” from (and “liberated” by) police or military personnel. And most go straight to one of the many gangs and never see a street corner dealer. If you are an ex-con with the right connections and you are buying, a Glock, a Colt 1911 or a clone, or other semi-auto handgun will cost $150 to $200. Revolvers are less valuable, but a .357 or larger will cost at least $150 – while smaller calibers usually cost $75 for a Jennings or equivalent to $100 for a Beretta Jetfire or equivalent. But if your street name is “Sum Dood,” the price depends on your desperation. Long guns? Shotguns rarely cost more than $100 when they are available. Rifles are about the same, with the same availability caveat. The bulkier long guns are harder to transport, so most of those stay in the area they were stolen in. And why did I specify stolen guns? Because even the cheapest 1911 clone will wholesale for $400 or more. Criminals are criminals, not fools, and are well aware there is no profit in paying $400 for merchandise that will only bring $150 to $200 whey they sell. A point that seems lost on the gun control fanatics.

That way, we can have more egregious practices than in many other countries that we consider rife with corruption, avoid the label and feel damn good about ourselves.
