After Texas loss - thought

-Need to evaluate QB spot. Milroe is a phenomenal athlete but not a QB1

-OL needs to be reworked. Not sure what’s going on there.

-Defense played well at times but made critical mistakes

-Texas has a really good team and capitalized on our mistakes.

Saban isn’t washed up. We’re two years removed from beating the best UGA team ever with Bill O’Brien and Pete Golding leading the O and D. And three years removed from having a historically great offense and team. In 2022, if we close the deal against LSU and Tennessee the team would have once again been 12-0 and would have played UGA for an SEC title (while still having BOB and Golding!!).

Is the team now as mentally tough and competitive like the 2007-2020 teams? Probably not. Players now are more like kids versus back in 2011 for example where they were young men out there (who hated losing more than anything).

Saban isn’t done but pieces need to be moved around on this team. The talent is there but do they have the drive, the mindset to respond? That will determine whether this is an 8-4 team or an 11-1 team. We will see.

Bama's Oline is fine.  Texas is just strong up front.  People need to quit acting like it's impossible for Bama to lose the trench battles.

The real issues are QB Play and Bama's DL.  Not saying Bama's DL is bad.  But your secondary is only as good as your front 7.  If your front 7 ain't getting there and your DBs are getting left one-on-ones with the speedsters Texas has....Ya going to have problems.

QB play.  They're holding him back with the 1-2 reads and run.  They don't trust the guy.  After that game-changing INT...we see why.  But if ya going to let him throw....Ya gotta open it up.

Bama will beat the Hell out of the SEC Over the following weeks.  Maybe LSU and A&M in College Stadium will give them a battle.  Be realistic it's not like the SEC West is some awesome Division.  Pretty sure they are still the favorite to win the West.  Who in the SEC outside of Ga. is as talented and loaded as Texas? Texas has a 4 or 5* damn near at every position and per NFL Scouts they have 11 kids that are on the radar to be drafted next year  along with Alabama. That will be the most in Texas Football History.   Saban said they will bounce back and they will.   They are a damn good football team.  Shit happens when you play against equal talent.  Texas needs to focus on dominating everyone going forward as that 1 game doesn't define either team going forward.  Now explain to me how the Hell South Florida got Bama to come visit them this week.  LSU will catch hell with  Missicreappi State this weekend.  We will see about the depth of the West division.  Kansas State plays at Mizzou and BYU goes to Arkansas.  The Big 12 possibly could be 3 -0 vs the West.  Though Porky should be favored over the FIghting Joseph Smith's.

Who else have the talent to dominate that OL in the SEC other than Georgia?  MTSU sure didn't and Milroe looked like VY 2.0 and people were raving.  As a Matter of Fact Bryce Young struggled against Texas last year and a blown Safety call is the reason they won.  Though he made a big play at the end to avoid a Sack.  He was 27/39 213yds 5.5 avg and 1 TD.  Now go look what he did to the SEC week over week.  When you Got 4 and 5* kids on the DL that are probably the largest in College football you gonna have problems.  They won't face that going forward till they meet UGA's fat ass.  In the 2 games they lost by a total of 4 pts vs LSU in OT by 1 and TN by 3.  Young had 455yds vs. TN and 328 vs. LSU 😁.  Milroe will look like VY 2.0 against the SEC West.

The OL struggled at times even against Middle Tennessee. It’s on film. There’s no refuting it. Was it to the level of what happened against Texas? Of course not. But we knew after last week that this line could struggle against good units… and then the Texas game happened and our fears came true. What they’ll do against the SEC West slate remains to be seen. Last year was last year and this OL is not what we had last year either. It’s too early to tell, but it’s possible that it doesn’t take a great DL to give our OL trouble. Again, time will tell. Limited what we can extrapolate from two games.

How can you say that the OL needs work? Isn't the two deep depth chart on the OL from Buford? And a Notre Dame retread is possibly the reason for OL woes.

Isn't all of the Gump D five stars? Maybe they have too many?☺️ They probably need a few more Chambliss' and the one star kid from Milledgeville to cement their pseudo stone wall?

Yawn!

Last year devilegg was a TCU fan and talked a lot of TCU shit/jive...... now he's wearing a Texas t-shirt. He has 15 different t-shirts he uses in one season. Go figure. Typical urban tex.

I think that could be said for a lot of folks who like to be on the quintessential bandwagon of the year.

And if you add a caveat to the notion that who in the SEC can compete with the top dawgs. The answer to that maybe be the Noles of Florida State and no one else, end of message. I saw on where Mike Novell was in attendance at the Colquitt-Lee Co. game Friday night. And he was scouting ALL THREE FIVE STARS, two of which have already signed with the Noles. And I would imagine that he was trying to flip Ny Carr as well.

The Faux persona at Colorado withstanding. I've never seen such a massive turnaround in such a short period of time, as they've accomplished in Tallahassee.
