RedZone
They're currently #11 nationally and coached by a Louisiana legend. They will be wrestling in the Louisiana Classic this weekend. I don't think we have anything that can stack up with what they have.

I just read articles and there's 6 or 7 articles on Gilroy's head coach returning to Louisiana. He was a bad dude on all levels. I didn't really know any of that stuff until I read the articles. He is definitely making a name for himself in high school wrestling as a coach, I guess..
RedZone
Gilroy's head coach in action. Cormier was an UFC Champion in 2 weight classes at the same time.

Friends trained with him a lot in the Sac area and I’ve met him many times. Really good dude. Glad he’s finally making a name for himself in high school wrestling, he’s been under the radar far too long.

Good announcer too and enjoy his interviews.
golfaddict1
My DIL worked briefly at a gym and she and my son met some fighters. American Top Team was the gym name. Dustin Poirer (spelling) my son met at the gym and at Publix. He remembered my son and they chatted a bit. 👍🏻 His wife met the Polish female champ whose name I won’t try to spell. 😂 Joanna! She met also Masvidal and Ponzinibio (spelling).
Cossacks
Don't really follow wrestling. But have gone to the old Gilroy garlic festival. Actually pretty fun.

Big 🧄 fan. Onions too. Hot peppers within intestinal reason. 😂. Got the hiccups once from NC farmers market hot 🥵 peppers. 😃 Wife’s cousin in NC makes an awesome homemade mustard with horse radish mixed in. Stuffy nose? Ha. Not for long.

Used to grow a ton of those myself. The Carolina Reaper was one the hottest. Can’t handle the heat the same way I used to when I was young, though 🤣
RedZone
Good interview. Seems like a likable guy. https://x.com/VSNLouisiana/status/1745786631762685957?s=20 Louisiana won't win 1 match against this Gilroy squad. If we do it'll be an upset. I did not see the match but know Bennett has been dealing with weight issues. Eds brought back their entire starting team & it’s crazy seeing how some have grown & the weights they are at now. RedZone
The Gilroy's flexing their wrestling muscle. I think all of Louisiana teams in the Top 10 would beat Gilroy in football though. Gilroy was O-10 this past year. They can wrestle, no doubt about it! Current Top
RedZone
Gilroy won 9 of the 14 weight classes including the heavyweight class. 👇 Just a little too much depth for Jesuit. Most of the Jesuit wrestlers and NOLA Catholic wrestling squads are football players. I think wrestling is pretty good for football players. Anyways, Congrats to Gilroy. Top 2 Gilroy heavyweight Cody Merrill is the #1 ranked heavyweight nationally. Merrill is an Oklahoma State wrestling commit. Jesuit heavyweight Spencer Lanosga checked in at #15 nationally. Lanosga has committed to Navy to wrestle and play football.
