No excuses but Hurricane Harvey held back the area at least two weeks while others outside the greater Houston Area started the season on time. One denominational teams like Katy's power running game are no match for teams that exploit it and have the ability to match its athletes. Kids that are in systems that are one denominational are not learning the full fundamentals of football. A football team should be trained on all faucets of the game such as passing the ball, carrying it, using the fullback, tight ends, offensive line pass and run blocking, etc. Their defensive game plan, was not geared to stop LT's offense. Also, Katy like most high school teams, are not familiar with defending high profile passing games such as LT's and Westlake. In 2015, Katy over powered LT's younger group. Credit LT for stacking the D-Line and dealing with Katy's massive O-Line today. Normally, Lake Travis and Westlake are well coached, though its passing holds more value than its run game, most of the time. However, its running game is no slouch.
