But I think there are some guys that may be on the fence, and maybe a recruiter will look at them and say, ‘We’d like to give them a chance.’”

Among the Middletown players who could benefit are quarterback Drew Fry and wide receiver Nick Johnston, both of whom were All-State selections last season and will be seniors this fall.

So is this strategy of getting some of your players looks (who haven’t got a lot of attention up to this point but college coaches scout IMG games) worth getting a beatdown? That’s what a coach has to decide ...

Yes but they better be careful to not let img steal their players over the off-season

Not sure if anyone connected with IMG posts here, but WTF is this?

Is this a sign of scheduling issues that IMG is having?

GA, CA and TX basically are trying to move away from playing img

Of the big 4 the only one not avoiding img is FL but then again FL don't avoid anyone

Anytime,  anyone,  anyplace

MD/DC Catholics (apart from SJC and SFA) & Ohio schools haven’t scheduled IMG from what I know...I imagine IMG has reached out already.  That’s a big pool of schools they haven’t taken advantage of/won’t play them.

NJ publics would never play IMG and the Big North catholics now have their schedules filled with each other and the Philly Catholic teams.

Where’s Bishop Gorman?!?!

GHSA says no go on IMG. No trying to move away from what I'm seeing. That horse is deader than dead, no zombie miracle for next 18 months.

Thanks.... I'll shut up on this issue until I see something in GHSA print.

Also, while obviously targeted at IMG, the proposal was to keep GHSA members from playing teams "who could not compete for state championships in their state" or something along those lines.

Seeing as how Colquitt was permitted to play Bishop Sullivan (who is not able to play for their state championship) last year, I don't believe it actually passed the voting process to amend the bylaws.

I found a article.... http://www.gwinnettprepsports.com/schools/archer/georgia-high-school-association-by-law-change-to-prevent-schools/article_73c9e719-627e-50f8-a61b-9ab7b4af3b54.html

I'm looking further to see if anything changed.

Appears it's still active, nothing in the last two years..... I wouldn't be surprised if GHSA looked the other way or back channeling to see the Colquitt/ Bishop Sullivan game through.... you know how some things go. Rules are bent from time to time. Judging by the tone in the articles, it appears IMG is targeted.

I'd imagine it will stay tabled until another school schedules them or a mass exodus of highly ranked recruits leaves the state causing an uproar among coaches.

I don't believe the GHSA turned their eyes on the Bishop Sullivan game, but instead they knew they couldn't prevent the game from taking place as it was within the current guidelines.

Instead of going after IMG they should instead focus on the metros teams leaching off of each other's talent to ensure more competition regionally up North.

GHSA tweaked the bylaw, but you think it's tabled?

Definitely possible. Second sentence.

SOWEGA opinion, I get it... really do. But I say this all the time "you can't legislate parents that want better for their kids, it smacks of socialism".

Metro gonna do that, pretty sure it happens all over the U.S., and if publics become more socialist I anticipate private schools rolls to swell... it's happening to a degree in Roswell and in other places.

@CCBlackhatter... didn't get your quote in for some odd reason.

Of course img is targeted

It's because they are better than these other schools and states don't want to be embarrassed

GA best team in 2016 took best shot and couldn't beat them,  they don't have faith any GA team would win over img it appears 9_9

You think any school will tell GHSAA to shove it and play img?

It could have similar effect to What state of California is doing and might get GHSAA digging around out of spite

No, I believe it's because IMG is not allowed to recruit fl or something like that. I know they have some fl players but I forget what the agreement was to let be a part of fl hsfb.
