Nolebull813
Someone posted an article earlier about St Frances playing as an independent and playing 2 Florida teams this year. Back in 2014 they had a game scheduled with Cocoa that was canceled because they were not apart of the NFHS or Maryland State Association. Even though they are independent, are they currently in 2018 apart of the Maryland state association or under the NFHS umbrella?
MA Fan
As I understand it, none of the private schools in Maryland are affiliated with the NFHS, since the MPSSAA is public-only and there is no statewide association for private schools (MIAA is just a fancy name for a Baltimore-area league) that could gain NFHS affiliate membership, as with private school associations in other states. SFA and most other privates are "approved non-member schools" for MPSSAA teams to play against, I don't know if other states accept that as equivalent to an NFHS affiliation. Is SFA vs. St. Joe's Prep official for August 31st? It was tweeted a while ago, but just showed up recently on the PCL schedule here: http://www.tedsilary.com/FBCLmastersked18.htm

However, because SFA is not part of the NFHS, the governing body in MA wouldn't approve the game. Good. Nolebull813
Unless Florida has changed a rule about that St Francis still won't be able to play those 2 Florida teams.

They were the first Florida team to schedule SFA after 2014 and the game was approved via a waiver I'm assuming. So that opened the flood gate for every team wanting to play non-NFHS teams. The FHSAA is afraid of IMG. Maybe someone at IMG has pics of the director at the FHSAA tied up at some hotel bed with a hooker and a safe word 😂
eaglesinsider
I believe as of last year the FHSAA was granting automatic waivers to schools that wanted to play MIAA teams. Bishop Moore was scheduled to visit Archbishop Spalding in a game cancelled by Irma and they are scheduled to play at Spalding this year on 9/14. Lots of MD-FL games in lacrosse this past season too.

It would certainly illustrate how incompetent and clueless this venture has been.
