When I make my poll, I first make a list of teams from each state (NorCal and SoCal I do seperate) that could possibly even be considered for a Top 100 list ..

For NorCal thatd look like ... (Last year Central Section D1, 2, & 6 were NorCal) (This is the list Id use to choose preseason Top 100 reps from NorCal)

De La Salle 

Pittsburg 

Serra (San Mateo) 

Central (Fresno)

Jesuit 

St. Francis (Mountain View)(I named SF as my early sort of darkhorse in NorCal)

Liberty (Brentwood) ... Id probably at least initially list this team simply because theres a poll that has them in its Top 100.. Even though it looks preposterous... Id never add a team like this to a Top 100 without them showing more than they have... Their 2017 results werent impressive, it wouldnt matter if this team brought back all 22 starters... Their 2018 schedule is also far from impressive ... No offense to them, theres just a ton more deserving teams... How CalPreps thinks they deserve to be Preseason #95 I have no idea.... As you would say, "Im Pops, and Liberty only beat 1 team in the Top 1000 last year, correction, in the CALPREPS Top 1000 last year" ... 

 

Id keep an eye on Del Oro & St. Marys (Stockton) but I wouldn't add them here yet ...

My only point was that you used unranked  serra (San mateo) dominating cajon as proof that CP is biased for CA (and socal)

I’m saying that result is neutral for CA and could (and does imho) show a socal bias and an equal NorCal bias against — why wouldn’t the team that crushed cajon be ranked 

I think NorCal is ranked about right in preseason with DLS and Folsom between 10 and 25 and Pittsburg in 2nd 50

you named the likeliest candidates to get another or a different team in

Fl preseason rankings are always so off.    Deerfield Beach...this is their year!   SMH.  Oh and Miami Central not worthy of the top 100 by 2 polls.  Yet every poll has Wekiva?  Don't get me wrong I like Wekiva, but there's something wrong here.   I honestly don't know how good Central will be, but how are they not getting any historical respect?

Whays crazy to me is Florida only has 2 Top 25, and 9 Top 100.

Georgia has 3 Top 25, and 10 Top 100.

And Texas only has 2 in the Top 25, but 15 in the Top 100.

 

Uplands good, but with their QB transferring they shouldnt be Top 100. We saw that they are 2 different teams with and without him vs. Oaks Christian. They jumped out to a lead vs. OC in the playoffs, lost their QB to injury, and OC came back and won ...

Cajon being in the Top 100 is stupid. Pure, unadulterated stupidity. They didnt beat a soul worth mentioning last year... Their best game was a close loss to Murrieta Valley... They got their asses kicked by Serra (SM). The fact Cajon is ranked just shows CalPreps extreme bias for California, SoCal specifically. MaxPreps had them inexplicably high also, but like I said MP and CP favored CA teams over mine and HSFA.

CP actually has Liberty (Brentwood) CA in its Top 100. Possibly the most head scratching Preseason ranking in the History of All Preseason rankings. 

 

I like Upland more than Cajon. I like 500 teams better than Cajon.

 

 

There was 158 Total Teams ranked in the 4 different polls... The totals for each state in that were ...

TX: 25 (10 of 25 teams were only in 1 poll)

CA: 20 (5 of 20 teams were only in 1 poll)

FL: 15 (5 of 15 teams were only in 1 poll)

GA: 12 (2 of 12 teams were only in 1 poll)

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Your hate for everything Cali knows no equal.  Your top 100 is going to be anti Cali due to your jealousy or anger or whatever of Cali.  It's too bad you won't be able to be neutral.  But, thanks for the work on doing this.

St Bernard's finishes 12-2 and 3,299th nationally. 

Holy Trinity goes 6-3 and finished 4,132nd nationally.

Please, make an argument for f*ing Cajon to be in the Top 100 based on anything rational ...

I give CA plenty of respect in my polls, even NorCals own "Billy Bob" said my poll must not be my own because of how high I had CA teams.

 

I know California is good. Im just far more rational with my rankings then people throwing Cajon in there just to fill a quota. Theres more deserving CA teams.

45. Oaks Christian CA (talented team but I may drop them a bit also ... I couldnt believe they lost to Helix 28-13 last season ... IMO, Upland shouldve played vs. Folsom in the Bowl game, and they would have if their QB didnt get hurt allowing OC to come back and win that playoff game 31-24 ... Upland led 21-0 at one point with their 3* QB still in the game... But shit happens ... IMO, Upland beats Folsom if they matchup in the Bowl game and Uplands QB is healthy)

I don't want people thinking that I'm associated with DLS in any way. I became a fan by accident when I watched them beat up on MD in the late 90s and then when I chanced upon a few articles written on DLS's program and their culture. 

But it's true what you say: I was surprised to see you put so many CA teams ahead of so many GA teams. You even had OLu (6-6, 0-5 in the in TL) ahead of the mighty Packers of Colquitt County. 

I'm still reeling from that one.

Made a few changes in the 26-45 range a few days back... Thats really a difficult grouping to rank correctly ... 

Youre right though, I cant see OLu beating Colquitt ... I dont believe they have what it takes in the trenches. BUT Im also not a firm believer that #30 can beat #31, #31 can beat #32, #32 can beat #33, and so on... Matchups determine a lot... And just because a team is #30, doesnt mean they can beat every team from #31-40... Maybe #36 and #38 matchup well vs #30 and would win 6 out of 10 ... Its really about finding that balance. Youll NEVER see a day when say #30 can beat EVERY team ranked below them, and would lose to EVERY team ranked above them... Just wont happen.

Im almost certain Ill make more changes in the coming weeks before the season starts ... When I start hearing how fall practices are going, etc. 

Im in wait and see Mode with teams like Milton GA and Walton GA... Both have potential... But both have questions also. Same for Archer. Hell same Grayson...  And everyone now that I think of it...
