ECHS05
**Ive got a couple things to fix and clean up in this post, but the initial Top 100 is done, so I wanted to go ahead and get it out, and Ill continue editing after** A Preseason Top 100 Compilation Poll using rankings from MaxPreps, CalPreps, HSFA, and The ECHS05 Top 100 ... (Its actually more than 100, as theres a lot of different teams ranked by each poll, but only the Top 100 was used from each poll to compile these rankings) The MaxPreps Top 100 appears to be an expansion on the previous MaxPreps Xcellent Top 25... For those who didn't notice. --- I added +10 points to each team for every poll they made to give them credit for making it in a ranking ... So #1 in a poll, gets 110 points and on down til #100 gets 11 --- (Ties will go to the team that appeared in the most polls, if still tied itll go to the team that achieved the highest single ranking in the 4 polls) The ECHS05MaxPrepsHSFACalPreps Compilation Top 100: 1-25: 1. Overall in the Compilation CA: 7 in the Top 25 14 in the Top 100 Whays crazy to me is Florida only has 2 Top 25, and 9 Top 100. Georgia has 3 Top 25, and 10 Top 100. And Texas only has 2 in the Top 25, but 15 in the Top 100. Uplands good, but with their QB transferring they shouldnt be Top 100. We saw that they are 2 different teams with and without him vs. Oaks Christian. They jumped out to a lead vs. OC in the playoffs, lost their QB to injury, and OC came back and won ... Cajon being in the Top 100 is stupid. Pure, unadulterated stupidity. They didnt beat a soul worth mentioning last year... Their best game was a close loss to Murrieta Valley... They got their asses kicked by Serra (SM). The fact Cajon is ranked just shows CalPreps extreme bias for California, SoCal specifically. MaxPreps had them inexplicably high also, but like I said MP and CP favored CA teams over mine and HSFA. CP actually has Liberty (Brentwood) CA in its Top 100. Possibly the most head scratching Preseason ranking in the History of All Preseason rankings. I like Upland more than Cajon. I like 500 teams better than Cajon. There was 158 Total Teams ranked in the 4 different polls... The totals for each state in that were ... TX: 25 (10 of 25 teams were only in 1 poll) CA: 20 (5 of 20 teams were only in 1 poll) FL: 15 (5 of 15 teams were only in 1 poll) GA: 12 (2 of 12 teams were only in 1 poll)

Its propganda. National number 5 and California's consensus number 2 team got boat raced and stone walled by the 12th best team in Florida. Miami Central, Armwood and Booker T beat Bishop Gorman in the same timeframe that the entire state of California went 2-12 against them. Bragging about Calpreps is like bragging about Penis size in Japan 😂
Nolebull813
In 2009 Lakeland beats DLS and then goes home and takes the only home shutout playoff loss in their 102 year history to Plant. They finished 11th in FL. DLS rolls to a state title. In 2011 STA puts a running clock on DLS on national TV. STA then limps to 3 losses including an embarrassing 6-3 loss to Dwyer in the watered down playoffs. They finished 12th in Florida. DLS wins the state title by 5 touchdowns and finished number 3 nationally in 2017 SJB comes to Florida on the 15 year anniversary of the schools 33-7 as whooping by Miami Monsignor Pace and lost 9-3. STA stumbles to 13th in Florida while SJB cements their ranking as the number 2 team in californa and 5th overall nationally. Thats what you call a trend. Nolebull813
And just for depth sake, a defending small school Champ St Bernard's comes to Florida and plays a small team with more freshman than seniors. Holy Trinity Episcopal. Holy Trinity,FL beats St Bernard's,CA 31-28 St Bernard's finishes 12-2 and 3,299th nationally. Holy Trinity goes 6-3 and finished 4,132nd nationally. Almost 1,000 spots lower. From the same set of facts it would be easier to say that NorCal is underrepresented I would call that neutral on CA i wont argue your point on a socal bias but would include lots of areas where good teams meet consistently (ie NJ, GCL, DFW) cajon should not be top 100 although they’ve got some good athletes — they’re a poor mans Murietta that needs to prove it a bit more than their star ratings

I think, these days, returning starters matters a little less until you can also factor in the transfers. Depends on the program or part of the country, though.

When I make my poll, I first make a list of teams from each state (NorCal and SoCal I do seperate) that could possibly even be considered for a Top 100 list .. For NorCal thatd look like ... (Last year Central Section D1, 2, & 6 were NorCal) (This is the list Id use to choose preseason Top 100 reps from NorCal) De La Salle Pittsburg Serra (San Mateo) Central (Fresno) Jesuit St. Francis (Mountain View)(I named SF as my early sort of darkhorse in NorCal) Liberty (Brentwood) ... Id probably at least initially list this team simply because theres a poll that has them in its Top 100.. Even though it looks preposterous... Id never add a team like this to a Top 100 without them showing more than they have... Their 2017 results werent impressive, it wouldnt matter if this team brought back all 22 starters... Their 2018 schedule is also far from impressive ... No offense to them, theres just a ton more deserving teams... How CalPreps thinks they deserve to be Preseason #95 I have no idea.... As you would say, "Im Pops, and Liberty only beat 1 team in the Top 1000 last year, correction, in the CALPREPS Top 1000 last year" ... Id keep an eye on Del Oro & St. Marys (Stockton) but I wouldn't add them here yet ...

You have to look at how many high level transfers are filling holes ... But for a large majority of the Top 100... They arent getting 5+ transfers every offseason... So returning starters matters a YUGE amount. Experience playing together/chemistry is bigly stuff

They got more high level transfers than Ive ever seen in 1 offseason in GA... But just to give this 2018 Grayson team a little more credit for the team they have now, theyve been pointing to this class for years and years, as one of the best ever in Georgia ... It wasnt a transfer thing ... In fact the only transfer at all is 3* DT Tru Thompson (FSU Commit) , and he transferred as part of that 2016 group, right after his Freshman season. So these guys have a ton of experience playing together, they dont have to learn each others names. (Another reason I hate the coaching carousel thats been happening at Grayson the last 3 years, 2019 is a special class thats been pointed to for years ... And more stability in the coaching ranks wouldve made it even better)

I don't think they'd have much trouble claiming the top 2 spots. Good for TX that they haven't gone that route. It's a shame what's going on in SoCal. 2
