First postseason cycle in MLB history

Baseball to me is too boring. I feel if they tape delayed it and fast forwarded through the time between pitches it would be better.

I guess you have to have grown up with it. Ironically, my parent are both Yankees from NY and NJ. Dad is a Yankees fan and mom is a Mets fan. Don't know how that happened. Lol. Both like NYG and The Rangers.

But they never tried to expose me and my siblings to it at a young age. Maybe they did and we said get this boring ass shit off the TV 😂

Anyways, congrats to the baseball fans and hope you enjoy your ball game

That’s the key, young age.  If you miss that period, it makes perfect sense.   Your mom is cooler based on team choice.  :)

Start spreading the news ..,... Happy Yankee Elimination Day!

What an entertaining ending to last night’s game.  Man that play was close at first and the ump was correct.

What was the ump on first’s replay record the previous night, 2 right and 3 wrong?  He was getting abused with close plays.

My mom went to spring training for the Mets in 1986 and got everyone's autograph except Doc Gooden and Daryl Strawberry. They refused to sign anything. She still has it. They all signed a program. It's probably worth soemething.

Did you see the 16-1 game?

"Best bullpen in baseball," I heard all season long.

I think I watched at least 150 of the Yankee games this year, never understood the accolades.

Must be something I don't know bout baseball.

Too many homer run hitters on the Yanks, not enough players hitting for average.

By the all star break it was a foregone conclusion the Yanks were not getting by Boston to the Series.

Doc and Straw perhaps ran out of medication that day and were not in a good mood.   What a group of characters on that squad.

Every single pitch, including the cycle homer late...  how often do you see Yanks pummeled like that?   Not enough, lol.   That was a Gashouse Gorillas game.

I saw some stats this year that favored pitchers era and overall strikeouts vs recent years.  Starters don't stay in as long as in the past and relief specialists now rule the game and give batters less looks and when they do look, they are viewing some wicked stuff.    There are some missile launchers in the league nowadays and the mph is one thing, but the movement is wiffle ball friendly.    I miss the Ryan, Seaver, Carlton, Sutton, etc. days.  More durability back then on 4 days rest.

Pretty interesting the way pitchers are used now.  Or not used might be a better way to describe it.  For the A's wildcard game - the didn't have 1 starting pitcher on the roster.  Every pitcher was a reliever and Closer.  Pitchers got 1 or 1+ innings.  Maybe I'm just old school but it takes more than 1 inning to get a feel for the strike zone, your pitches, etc.  It's hard to beat a great SP who is in a groove.  But your point about hitters seeing less pitches is very valid.

But I have also had thoughts that if the Closer is so damn good why don't they use him the whole game.  Lol.

What a great game baseball is.
