I remember Keydren Clark from St Peters putting on scoring displays against Manhattan around 03/04. I graduated in 04. They are a young team with a new coach. Their OOC schedule included NC State, Clemson and Auburn. Expected to lose those. Didn’t expect to lose to the NEC teams though. Those were terrible. Keydren Clark was a legend at SPU. I graduated a few years before him but have been going to games for many years. Loved to watch him play. Too bad we couldn’t get him much help around him. Games against Manhattan and Luis Flores were good games.
paladin4ever
Was talking about SPU in my previous post. Don’t know much about Manhattan this year. However, Massiello always seems to prepare well. Don’t count the Jaspers out.

legendsofthefall
As NYFan stated, Mark Jackson probably the most famous Loughlin bball alum. Some other notable alums include Notorious BIG, Off his rocker Rudy Giuiliani and Andre Riddick (high flying dunker/rim protector for Pitino's powerhouse Kentucky teams in early-mid 90's).

Bishop Loughlin will probably face Sophie B. Wright (NOLA)...if they can handle Dunham (Baton Rouge) who is highly regarded. Maxpreps has Sophie #4 in Louisiana and #64 nationally... I don’t think Bishop Loughlin is going to be #1 in NY once they get into their league play, but it seems like they are playing pretty good ball for now. RedZone
It's really hard to keep up with all these teams truthfully. Dunham won a big tourney in Tennessee last week and is clearly better than I thought they were.....up 4 at halftime.

Yea - a lot of these top teams play all over the country around the holidys trying to f8nd their footing against solid competition. It usually serves them well come playoff time in their respective states: “Thomas Jefferson (Brooklyn, NY) - Going to Arizona over the holiday break to play in the VisitMesa.com Basketball Challenge, the Orange Wave would go 4-0 in the desert as they brought back victories over four of Arizona's best in Chaparral, Deer Valley, Perry, and Millennium.”

Dunham is a 2A school here......home of the #1 football player in the country per Rivals....and evidently some decent basketball.

The CHSAA (The NYC Catholic League) still has plenty of good teams and talent but it's nothing like its heyday. It was considered the best league in America for many decades. Now with the HS sports landscape having changed and kids leaving NYC for prep schools and better opportunities, those days are long gone.

Tons of kids leave NY every year to play at those prep schools and / or re-class. It’s the new normal.
