You can beat your ass that in any serious Texas meet where the big dogs come to run in that Jamaica is not going to go 1st thru 4 running times like that.

Before I forget the top Jamaica track schools are being stacked.

Houston got dq'd in the 4x100.  There were a lot of issues for whatever reason.  Houston only ran a 39.46 I think with second running a 39.63.

... and every 4x100 ran that day was slow.   From the world relays to the HS kids.   

Who knows how those gusts were swirling and not every sprinter runs 100 meters distance.   If the initial leg was into the wind then that split would be the weak link and who knows maybe some of the teams had the anchors running 90 meters or 100 or 110 who knows what the distance totals were with and against or crosswinds etc.    All I know is every race that day was slow and you and Tex know better than to compare venues and variables.    DeSoto HS running neck and neck with US pros in relays (see TX thread)?  C'mon now.

Here is what I know concerning Jamaica HS.  They have verified times from this year including their national championship and Texas compares with them very good!

Boling's 9.98, wind or not, his avg. speed for the 100 meter rip was 22.41 mph  (his true PR time wind legal?  Perhaps 10.15 as a guess?  Still 22.04 mph avg).  

Anyone who hits 11.18 (20.0 mph) or better in the 100 meter dash is running 20 mph avg or faster for the 100 meter distance.   That's moving...   

10.5  =  21.30 mph  avg. 

10 flat = 22.37 mph avg. 

9.58 record holder Usain Bolt  = 23.35 mph avg   (his peak speed I believe was upper 27 mph range).

2017 Calabar was wicked.   39 flat at the Penn Relays.   But then there's the 6A 2018 TX finals, no weak sauce there.    A trio of Jamaican IMG style clubs vs Texas top 3 would be fun to see annually.  

If I told you 41.44 was FL's 4th best time, you and DD would think I'm nuts... but there you go.   Pretty sad leading into states.

Other good sprinters best ever HS times 

Trayvon Bromell 9.99 +4.0  This was done after graduation at the Great Southwest meet

Noah Lyles  10.07  +4.3  this was during Pan-American Junior meet - this was ran in Aug.

That puts Boling in damn good company

Houston Strake 3:13  - My money is right here.  my buddy who was at the regional meet said Boling costed to this win-  says he will run however fast is needed to win this race.  Keep in mind Boling ran 46.12 last year.  He is faster this year.

Kingwood 3:14

College Park 3:15

It will 9 teams that have all recorded at least 3:15 something something.

Are you ready for class.  This is what happens when they stack teams.  Twins Tia and Tina Clayton ran for in the 13 to 14 year old girl division at the Nationals.  Kevona Davis ran in the 15 and 16 year old division.  Serena Cole also was in the 13 to 14 year old division.  At the Penn relays they stacked their best from the school.
