The consensus is Brentwood Academy. This was on Monday. I assume these teams all submitted contracts so the only way out is if the Freedom Bowl released them.

I thought BA was scheduled to play Pulaski Academy at the BoB this year? Maybe I’m wrong? Or maybe they are scheduling two OOS trips? They could certainly afford it. Lol

Gonzaga (defending WCAC champs) released their schedule and their four OOS games include three Florida teams coming to D.C. - Plant, Leesburg and American Heritage ( not sure which one...anyone know?). The fourth game is at DBP. Gonzaga continues to schedule only teams they expect to beat ...none of the six non-conference opponents are top 100 teams (last year rankings).

Leesburg? They went 1-9 and got crushed in every game.   That doesn’t make any sense. It’s AHP. And Plant confirmed too.

Apparently the coach for Gonzaga is a Leesburg alum.

That’s irresponsible for the Leesbirg staff to put their team which is worse than most varsity teams JV team.

This will be 60-0 and that’s only if Gonzaga pulls the starters in the 2nd quarter. Or it could easily be like that Massillon Washington game where it was like 101-6

Leesburg’ national ranking.....

Guess they wanted a trip to the nation's capital. AHP -Gonzaga could be interesting...is Plant a threat? Gonzaga is not the most talented team in the WCAC but a well-coached team with a stud QB and a big offensive line. They have some holes to fill on defense. They went 0-3 in the regular season vs SJC, DeMatha and GC but pulled off two miracle wins in the playoffs to win he championship.

The head coach is a local guy but was a head coach in Florida prior to coming back to D.C...not sure if it was at Leesburg or some other school.

Plant can’t hang. Maybe 10 years ago.

AHP will be the only one that can hang and that’s it they restock the cupboard this offseason

That might be what I read. I know he had tied to Leesburg

Different philosophies in the WCAC...SJC (and to a slightly lesser extent DeM and GC) play as tough a schedule as possible prior to league play. Gonzaga plays 3/4 cream puffs and a couple of half-decent teams before the WCAC games begin. And they rarely travel for tough games.  Guess it worked for them last year.

The game with AHP should be a good one. AHP is trying to get back on the national scene. A win at Gonzaga will help.

Probably not

Plant will likely end up losing by about 10-14

Also AHP game may have came 1 year too late

Expect Gonzaga to finish 3-0 against the FL teams

Here’s a little insight on Plant

From the coach when I asked how many starters return....

“So excited to go.
7 returning starters on D. Mainly in the back 8.
4 returning on offense. Graduated the entire OLine. But have an All-American QB”

Sounds like Gonzaga should have an advantage up front...which is a problem for Plant.

I realize the goal is to make the Florida teams always look as bad as possible in regards to OOS teams. But, last year's Plant team lost only by 3 after a last second FG failed to Armwood, who played for the 6A title, and they only lost by 19 to a Lakeland team that also had STA down 19 in winning the 7A title.

No idea how good the 2019 Plant team will be. As we know, Plant is a little different style Florida team in that they are more geared towards smart play with good QBs but not overwhelmingly athletic. They always tend to be much tougher later in the season. So, the later the game is scheduled, the better for Plant and vice versa/.

Yeah the list this year is especially slanted in favor of the OOS teams. It’s like these states can’t find anyone in the whole world so they just come here and find anybody to agree to a game no matter how big the mismatch

Who are the teams? I'm guessing Washington (OH)? They seem to be the only Top Team from Ohio willing play OOS.

Hey Kalven,

Ohio can only play one OOS game per year with the opponents state not being a contiguous state

Eds as an example has played Florida's Cocoa, Mainland & Jefferson

wish we could play more😀
