WCACguy Posted March 1, 2019 Report Share Posted March 1, 2019 Gonzaga (defending WCAC champs) released their schedule and their four OOS games include three Florida teams coming to D.C. - Plant, Leesburg and American Heritage ( not sure which one...anyone know?). The fourth game is at DBP. Gonzaga continues to schedule only teams they expect to beat ...none of the six non-conference opponents are top 100 teams (last year rankings). That’s irresponsible for the Leesbirg staff to put their team which is worse than most varsity teams JV team. This will be 60-0 and that’s only if Gonzaga pulls the starters in the 2nd quarter. Gonzaga plays 3/4 cream puffs and a couple of half-decent teams before the WCAC games begin. And they rarely travel for tough games. But, last year's Plant team lost only by 3 after a last second FG failed to Armwood, who played for the 6A title, and they only lost by 19 to a Lakeland team that also had STA down 19 in winning the 7A title. No idea how good the 2019 Plant team will be. As we know, Plant is a little different style Florida team in that they are more geared towards smart play with good QBs but not overwhelmingly athletic. Yeah the list this year is especially slanted in favor of the OOS teams.
