Good stuff as always...

If I had to nitpick I would:

1. Switch Guyer and Aledo since Guyer won the head-to-head.

2. Replace Denton Ryan with Frisco Lone Star (#1 in 5A-D1 whereas Ryan is #3 in 5A-D1) as they are also unbeaten and have played a stronger SOS (They beat Highland Park at thier place).

Ryan hasn't really been tested but will most likely meet up with Lone Star in the playoffs.

My thinking on the Guyer-Aledo ranking was that the game was a three pointer, so the teams are essentially even.    Guyer's loss to Carroll by twelve made me think that perhaps Aledo would win six or seven is a ten game series, so went with them as the higher rated team.   As far as Lone Star, you are correct.   They jumped on the radar several weeks ago and are just outside the poll.   Probably made a mistake putting Highland Park back in when Lone Star beat them head on.    Similar to the same mistake I made by ranking Chaminade-Madonna when an undefeated Vero Beach team beat them by 21 three weeks ago.    Will take it all in next week as I again try to insure that the poll is as good as I can make it.   Thanks for the input.

I think you pretty much nailed NC and SC. Might put Byrnes in just below Dorman. Their only loss was to Dorman by 2 and they handled Gaffney pretty easily. Think Dutch Fork, Dorman and Byrnes are the class of SC.

I have Byrnes third in South Carolina.    Also watching Myrtle Beach, Fort Dorchester, South Pointe and Inman Chapman.

Corner Canyon, UT should be a little higher

I actually agree... That team looks legit AF.

Small market big fish in a very small pond.   Best win is by 3 vs small market Lone Peak.

Would be a good D-2 semi finalist in So Cal.

Over ranked nationally tho.

Not sold on Utah teams or Mallard creek and Dutch fork this year.

Nah, they would make a decent run at the SS D1 semi-finals. Lone Peak is a solid team. You failed to mention they wiped the floor with Narbonne. Corner Canyon would be a tough out for any team in D1 (except MD and SJB, of course). This way of thinking is why your tiers have the flaws they do.

Mallard Crk and DF are good teams as well. They will both have serious challenges in their playoffs, though.

In reviewing the Excuse Thread from that week.....You forgot to mention that Narbonne's head coach was fired 2 months before the game.  You also forgot to mention that Narbonne traveled to Utah.

How many of your top 50 teams have never played a team ranked higher than them before the game?  How many of your Top 50 teams never played a top 50 team this year.

The answer on both accounts is "too many".   You like to rank teams that won't ever be truly vetted.  Good strategy, but cowardly.

Coach or not Narbonne had good talent and LP doubled them up. Wasn’t it 42-21? That’s not even close.
As far as I’m concerned I’ve consistently been in the top 5 of our Pick’em for many years. I, obviously, have a good grasp on which teams will beat other teams.  You, on the other hand, are never anywhere near the top of the leaderboard. Actions speak louder than words, brotha!

You lost me at “coach or not”.

In HS football losing the head coach is everything.

How many of the pick em games are small market games?  Not even the interns give af about if Vestavia Hills can beat James Clemens.

Your trump card is the pick em standings.  Ok then. You know your small market teams.

But you are venturing out of your league when you make loopy statements about Large market teams which you have never seen play in person.
