Whether from Cleveland or Cincy, or spots in between, the average poster from Ohio is more likely to give objective analysis than from anywhere else. Lots of different guys on here, and on previous forums, have shown it over and over again. Respect! I agree 100% with this. Respect for Ohio posters and Ohio football. You guys kick ass. 😎 1
zulu1128
As long as no one from Massillon shows up, our reputation should remain intact lol. 1

St. Edward - perhaps a bit of a controversial pick here seeing as how the Eagles are sitting home right now, but I don't think any casual observer who watched the last game with Mentor would tell you Mentor was the better team. 2. Pick C - also a strong case at this point for number 1. Along with St. Edward, the most complete teams in the state. I give the Eagles the advantage on the o-line and the running of Formani. Pick C will have a chance at number one if they take care of Elder as easily as Ed's did. 3. Mentor - offense was fantastic and their defense played above their pay grade all year heading into the playoffs. Floriea was uncoverable (even against Pick C's D1 caliber corners) and Kipp is as difficult as any QB in the state to contain. 4. Elder - along with the Mentor, the most explosive offense in D1. Defense is doing just enough to win games. All you can ask for at this point. They simply have to outscore their opponents. 5. Colerain - playing so well at the end of the year. Arguably the best defense in the state. Jaylen Thomas injury was a killer, otherwise I think they may have come out of R4. 6. Massillon - finally got by Hoban, but Hoban was not at full strength. Have a chance to move up if they take care of LaSalle. 7. LaSalle - nice win over TCC, their only real test in the playoffs so far. 8. Springfield - some will say they should be higher based on that performance against Elder, but I figured their athletes would have success against a suspect Elder defense. The good defenses on their schedule had all but shut down their offense throughout the year, and I think they'd have trouble scoring against most of the teams I have ranked higher. 9. St. Xavier - missing that typical X defense this year to compliment a good offense. 10. Fairfield - really good team, but could not shake the Colerain demons. Others: Hoban, Goveport Madison, TCC, Coffman, WW, O-Lib This is hard. What is the general consensus on ranking teams after their season is over when dealing with injuries? Do you rank them based on their peak, or the most recent version of themselves? This will probably largely influence my rankings regarding Colerain and Hoban

That doesnt help answer my question about injuries lol I mostly agree with you if it concerns multiple games. There are rare situations where a certain matchup could be too much for a team, but overall they are better. I wouldnt rank Eds ahead of Mentor

maxchoboian
Yep, there are a few reasons I like spending time on the Ohio threads. One of which has to do with their crowd sourced browsing history, I'd guess. Let's see what Cyber Monday brings...

We understand this can be frustrating, but if you want to file a complaint, we have a committee for that..... but they aren't very timely in their responses 😉

This will probably largely influence my rankings regarding Colerain and Hoban I ranked based on the most recent versions, hence the big drop off for Hoban. While the Knights still gave Massillon a battle thanks to their defense, that offense is not the same without a healthy Trayanum and Clark. I felt comfortable keeping Colerain pretty high, again, due to their stellar defense.
