HSFBfan
Big news White House trade adviser Peter Navarro predicted Sunday that the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) will pass the Senate as early as Friday. He said on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures" that Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) will mark up the long-awaited trade deal Tuesday in the Senate Finance Committee. Then Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) will be able to call it on the floor. With fast-track legislation there is a maximum of 20 hours before the vote. “So, possibly, this week, we could actually do some great people's business -- dairy farmers in Wisconsin will rejoice,” he said. “Auto workers in Detroit, everyone in between, across the 50 states of America.” Navarro also discussed the upcoming signing of the phase one deal with China scheduled for Jan. So the market goes down yesterday off the highs and today it ends up 68 points.
HSFBfan
President Trump's approval rating has hit a record high among his supporters in the latest Hill-HarrisX poll released on Monday. Of those surveyed, 90 percent of Republicans said they approve of Trump's job performance, compared to just 10 percent who did not have a favorable view of the president. That is the highest favorable rating among Republicans in the Hill-HarrisX poll since it began asking the question in 2018.
HSFBfan
Former Rep. Scott Taylor, who lost Virginia’s 2nd District in the 2018 midterms, is now running for his old House seat, dropping his challenge to Democratic Sen. Mark Warner. “We’re going to take the seat back,” the Republican said Monday morning on local television station WAVY. The former Navy SEAL is hoping to take on freshman Democrat Elaine Luria, who defeated him by 2 points in 2018. President Donald Trump carried the Norfolk-area district by 3 points in 2016. This is an R+3 district. Flip it blue to red!!!!!

HSFBfan
House Republicans are investigating Michael Atkinson, the Intelligence Community inspector general who notified Congress of the whistleblower complaint that sparked an impeachment effort against President Trump. California Rep. Devin Nunes, the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, told The Sara Carter Show on Monday that Atkinson still faces "serious questions" after his testimony in October, which to this day remains under wraps. Democrats have not released the transcript of that deposition despite mounting pressure by Republicans.
HSFBfan
From a politico article I think [Trump] has an excellent chance of being re-elected, no matter what,” said Tracy Freese, the Democratic Party chairwoman in Grundy County, where she introduced Sanders at a town hall over the weekend. “There are plenty of Democrats who are realistic.” https://www.politico.com/amp/news/2020/01/07/democratic-primary-2020-095090

HSFBfan
401(k) plan savers stashed away roughly an extra percentage point of their salaries over just a two-year period. For a 35-year-old earning $60,000 a year, that extra savings could translate to an additional $85,500 by retirement age. Business owners, rather than the workers, appear to have a greater role in boosting 401(k) savings rates.
