Per 247Sports, Ohio State's commitments for the 2021 class hold a recruiting class score of 294 points.

The record is around 325 points and typical winning class in recent years hits somewhere in the 290-325 range.

Five star players tend to add nearly 30 points each.

Four star kids can add just a few points up to the mid 20s.

Right now Ohio State is trending to possily even break 400 points.

It's looking like Georgia is predicted to have have a very strong 2021 showing also, but they are currently well behind in actual commitments.

These are their current commits (the first number under their height/weight is their player quality score and the three numbers below those are their national player ranking, national position ranking and then in-state player rank).

The first three guys are 5 stars, the next 12 are four stars and last two are three stars.

The Buckeyes have commitments from 11 of the Top 100 and are expecting a few more.

LSU has bolted to #10 in team recruiting with only 8 commits.

We coming!

Just to correct my OP regarding Ohio State trending to hit a 400 point recruiting class with 247Sports.

That is just about impossible from what I've learned of the 247Sports algorithm.

The 247Sports algorithm has an interesting characteristic where as a team adds more recruits, the "points" associated with each player will change. So, for example, Ohio State's lowest rated commit is a 3* named Devonta Smith who currently contributes 3.66 points to Ohio State's 295 current total.  If the five guys above him in Ohio State's commit list were to disappear, then his value would increase to 8.41 points.

My best guess is that the algorithm docks points as lists get longer and assumes the lower you are in the list, the less likely you are to play and thus contribute.

All this said, it is still quite possible for Ohio State to set a new record.

No need to correct yourself again.

Anyone that's ever followed recruiting for say 1-year knew that was never going to happen. 😀

Goofball!

Good luck to Corey down in the bayou. Very talented player, and by all accounts a first class kid off the field. If Ohio State wasn’t recruiting at an insane level nationally right now landing Henderson and Pryor, I think he’d be a Buckeye. Very glad he didn’t end up at Michigan.

LSU gets verbal commitment from Ohio's best RB....4* Corey Kiner

We coming #ohiost

Thats a great pickup for LSU. Its been fun watching Kiners highlights the last couple years. There were some great RBs in Cincy this year..... Corey Kiner to LSU,  Miyan Williams to Ohio State, & Jutahn McClain to Kentucky.

Yeah, Kiner is legit. Last RB we got from Cincy was Spencer Ware and he was highly productive in a stacked backfield. Ware has Super Bowl rings, but looking for a new team this year......he's been banged up most of his NFL career.

My Rummel Raiders have a good RB in Logan Diggs. .....Diggs has been racking up offers with 25 of them now including USC, Notre Dame, Michigan St and etc...Rummel has been good to LSU last couple years. Hoping Diggs can pull an  LSU offer.

Kinda sucks for the Louisiana kids this year as LSU normally offers a host of them after their camps........hopefully they can get a couple in.

I definitely remember Spencer Ware terrorizing my Colerain Cardinals for 4 years! Although he never beat us, many Cincy football fans say he's one of the best athletes to come from Cincinnati.

Hopefully Diggs can stay home. Its always cool when players are hometown heroes.

He is the best offensive player I've seen from the area.
