To describe the "feeling" part, it is similar to what happens when you go for a CAT scan during which the radiation reacts with the contrast fluid causing a feeling of heat in the area where the radiation is concentrated, accompanied with a metallic taste in the mouth, and for many folks nausea. With my lightning reaction however, there is no metallic taste sensation. The closer and more powerful the lightning is, the worse the impact is. I can tell you that I spent a lot of miserable days during the 8+ years I lived in St. Louis, but living now in Southern CA, I almost never have to worry about it. Throughout the years, each time I've changed jobs and insurance and ended up with a new primary care physician, I was sure to let them know about this condition. Over the course of 8 different doctors, only one even thought enough about it to refer me to a specialist, but apparently, this condition is not recognized as something insurance covers, so it's remained unresolved. I look at it mostly as an annoyance albeit twice early on, it turned out to be fortuitous for me. So, I ask you wise one. What do you think? Can you help me to understand this condition? A good post here... not like some "failed species" argument... I have experienced similar (to what's underlined) after my sickness/near death experience, not exactly the same, but similar... Science can explain some, the lightning for example, but certainly not all... will send a pm as this stuff is not comfortable on a public message board. In response to your Lightning, I can say publicly here that lightning records are currently being smashed (obliterated really), and intensity of energy transfer is now producing 'surface to air' lightning at a much greater rate. To put it in your (earth) membrane terms...as most lightning runs air to ground, when the energy is too great the earth 'membrane' is not strong enough to contain it, so it will escape/return out of the ground upward, even miles away...
