We talking about how Marietta loaded up about like Grayson. Probably saw the same mickey mouse investigations for their transfers and everything. 6 or 7 facade apartments with 2 months rent paid ahead on them and staged  with Aaron's Rents furniture paid  2 months ahead as well. A phone call a couple of hours ahead before paying a home visit should give them enough time to navigate metro traffic and meet the mickey mouse club of investigators to clear that they live there.

xD

oh and I'm Rab, shithead!

Theyll never get Marietta... 2 different situations. 97.47% of Mariettas transfers were before they ever started the 9th grade.

The 4* OT that came down from Tennessee moved with his family. His Dad moved his entire business.

Thats all there is.

Hell they didn't care to get Grayson. Why would any of us think they'd try for Marietta?

We just trollin' because it's a nice scab to pick at. xD

I like the before 9th grade transfers. This way they all play together through their high school career and aren't guilty of ring chasing like some folks.

The occasional move like the OT and family is probably normal by most viewpoints.

These are examples of normal and unsuspicious activity.

Yeah. I think that is fine. The rule clearly states that is acceptable practice and that no bona fide move is needed in order to have eligibility.

We have benefitted from this same type of transfer ourselves. And the occasional bona fide move also.

The Taylor farce is the type of stuff that needs to be stopped, but, as we see, the metro schools don't even get probation or any real punishment at all.

Other than every one else beating the drum and being whiny socialists to keep it out in the open and the GHSA feet to the fire. Gotta keep it out in the light you know. Democracy dies in the darkness.

I think there may be a better way, my kid was penalized because of the hysteria. The scrutiny created a blow back that penalized the innocent.

Cry wolf, and it falls on deaf ears... that's my take. You got one "solid" incident that's mentioned. Got no case in regards to Marietta.

Even if there's rules placed, Parents will adopt a player to circumvent, and that is eyebrow raising but it happens once in a while.

Now I submit to you, how many instances have you seen rules broken that the GHSA will not enforce? A lot, right? With the exception of Tucker GBB being kicked out of post season for ineligible players and that happened post season, should tell you something. GHSA doesn't have the manpower and resources to chase down every little infraction which may or may not be proven to be egregious.

Creating a police state within the GHSA will be expensive and only for the appeasement of a few isolated schools. Grassroots, homegrown is a ideological quest that's fading in today's world, personally I hate it, I want enforceable rules with teeth to stop questionable transfers but you're not going to stop it, you may slow it down. The masses with the tax base and connections are not going to stand for it. Identify where the power is and work within it.

I've seen the good and ugly, and it's ugly right now... we scream injustice in one breath, then shout out teach these kids resilience.. can't have it both ways. Teach the kids resilience that the world's not fair but we want justice for the kids. I want justice for the kids but not like this.

I agree with most of this but at the same time we are probably killing innocent people via lethal injection quite a bit too. Hasn't knocked a dent at all in the Texas conveyor belt to the injection table though. Two wrongs don't make a right. Just because an innocent gets collateral damage from a rule, doesn't mean that we just allow some to circumvent or totally ignore the rule.

Just change the rules so that everywhere is open enrollment instead of appeasing the metro schools. We keep hearing "appeasing a few isolated schools". This is where the bullshit kicks in. Nobody could bitch if the rules are applied the exact same everywhere. We all know they aren't, because it's left up to the schools to police themselves, and some folks, including school admin, aren't on the up and up. They flim-flam paperwork and if it wasn't for some people whining, it would be far more rampant than it is. Hell, city schools benefit from the busing rules from the 60's while no county schools do at all. Only a few really take advantage of that, because, again it's self policed and many realize the inequality of utilizing the rule. Others have used it with impunity and do not care about the competitive advantages they have over schools operating under a totally different rule. Yet, they are all operating inside the same GHSA.  Not judging, just saying the truth.

The rules are not even handed, or even even-handedly investigated, policed or imposed. We like to pick at the issues as they arise because the rules either have to be applied the same for all members or deleted from the books. Sometimes our friends are in the line of fire on these issues. For instance, Fred is in the line of fire on the Taylor incident. I like Fred, and hell, I even don't have disdain for Grayson as a school. I love the hell out of it when our team beats them though. :D

I say the entire debate can end with abolishing the transferring rules. As you say, it's far too difficult to investigate and as we all have come to learn, the people doing the actual paperwork and investigating are sometimes unscrupulous their own selves, which is a huge part of the problem with having the rule on the books. Some thieves aren't honest and will pick a lock or break a window.

I like this quote by the way.

However, those with little power or authority on their side have any recourse to affect any change. We must use the platforms that we are afforded in order to press issues. A hint, there are a lot more people with little to no real power or authority than those that can affect some level of change by criticizing in private.

The "little guy" is left to create a political atmosphere that forces the hand of those that do have the power to abide by said quote.

I don't necessarily like it, but, that's the way it is. The court of public opinion is what it is and we can't trust the people in power to do what's to everyone's benefit because of all the various types of greed. It's all symptoms of the human condition.

Speaking to the blow back on collateral damage due to a "knee jerk" reaction, not saying ditch the rule.

Good point, although we scaled back tuition apps to kindergarten, interesting to see who's raping the populace today. Decatur is killing it!! Hahaha... joking, joking... put the bat down.🤣

This issue will be around for an eternity it seems, we share the same values but differ on approach, and I agree with just about everything in regards to subject matter.

I just wonder about the effectiveness of it, educators as a whole those autonomous are as obtuse as a bunch can get, at least you know where they stand, the weak kneed political types educators are the scary ones... wild card appeasement types. I'm sure you've seen the GHSA types and the questionable comments and moves.

Don't worry I don't follow that quote here, if triggered I auto Tourette's syndrome.. hahahaha.

But when it comes to those in power, it's a dicey game and even if I don't have a kid in it, I don't want my kid or any kid taking a bullet due to "adult" actions in public, seen too many things.

You didn't hear shit you liar.

Lie to be liked?

You did certainly say in a thread that to compete with Lovejoy a team had better have several 4.3 type players.

You, my foul-mouthed friend, are the liar.

You said it, now own it.

And learn, to, punctuate.
