  • Mater Dei 9-1
  • Corona Centennial 10-0
  • Oaks Christian 10-0
  • Mission Viejo 6-4
  • Bishop Amat 9-1
  • Vista Murrieta 8-2
  • Long Beach Poly 8-2
  • Valencia 7-3

Auto Bids

  • St. John Bosco 9-1
  • Jserra 8-2
  • OLU 5-5 (No they technically aren't a auto bid but they will be a lock in wildcard)
  • Rancho Cucamonga 5-5
  • Murrieta Valley 6-4

On The Bubble

  • Servite 3-6
  • Santa Margarita 4-6
  • Serra 5-5
  • Chaminade 3-7
  • San Clemente 5-5

Playoff seeds will be

1. MD

2. CC

3. Bosco

4. Oaks Christian

5. MV

after that its a blind draw lol I do think though out of the bubble teams San Clemente, Santa Margarita and Serra will make the playoffs.

At Large teams must have a .500 record or better for their complete schedules to be considered. A tie will count as a ½ win and ½ loss as the criteria for .500 or better record. (A record of 4-4-2 would be considered as qualifying). In the sport of football, in order to alleviate byes, if there are no .500 teams entered or all .500 or better teams have been taken, then the next best record as submitted by leagues will be taken. However, no team under .500 will be placed until all .500 at-large entries have been placed.

The Selection Committee, with the full support of the CIF-SS Football Coaches Advisory Committee, will utilize the following criteria in its selection process for at-large teams with each category below having the specific weight listed:

(a) Head-to-head competition of teams under consideration (4 points)
(b) Overall strength of the league from which the team is entered based on the end of season rankings (1 point)
(c) Overall win-loss record (1 point)
(d) Strength against common opponents (1 point)
(e) Strength of schedule (2 points, using overall win-loss record of opponents)
(f) Free lance teams will be part of the pool for the filling of at-large berths

So last nights game between Servite and Santa Margarita was a basically elimination game. So SM is out for sure. Now we have 4 teams for 3 spots: Servite, Chaminade, Serra, and San Clemente. Based off the wild card formula my guess is the three schools will be Servite, Serra and San Clemente.

Yep

Servite will have the best wins.

Norco 9-1

Bakersfield 8-2

SM who has a forefeit win over Mission Viejo.

Best wins or not they will be in because the formula rewards head to head victories with 4 points. Just like who ever wins the Chaminade/Serra game will be in the driver seat for a playoff bid.

Gardena Serra lost its first string and second string QBs to injuries last week. Real question is who's playing QB tonight vs. Alemany.

SM is not out for sure. SM could still pull off an upset in one of their two remaining games and Serra and Chaminade could both finish 3-7 along with SM. If all 3 finish at 3-7 (unlikely since both Serra and Chaminade would have to lose to Loyola) then SM likely gets in.

Agreed but those are highly unlikely scenarios lol

Servite is in. Period.  Don't over analyze it.  Spend your time figuring out who the other two teams are:

Trinity League points

Best Wins points,

Best Record points.

Strength of schedule points

Other two? I suppose you're assuming Capo Valley over San Clemente is a sure thing?

Doesn't Sam Clam still have to play Mission?

Yes, they still have to play Capo Valley and MV. They have to win at least 1 more game to finish top  2 in the South Coast league and get an autobid. They are currently 4-4 so if they lose both games they will  be 4-6 needing an At-Large.

  • Thanks 1

Capo is legit. If they play vs. the Tritons like they did vs. Mission, they have a shot.
