In 2005, the same year Longview, TX beat state champ West Monroe.......2-loss 5A East St John, La beat state champ John Curtis first game of the year 16-6. It was the only Curtis loss in 2005.

In Texas = big deal

In Louisiana = not so much

Some of you people have no idea how truly comical you are.....

.

Sounds like East St John’s had pretty good team.

curtis was playing up in 2005 for this game.

You are also leaving out part of the story

East St John’s played Curtis on Sept 30 due to the Hurricane sept 30th was the 1st game for Curtis and it was East St John’s 3rd game.

John Curtis who was good...However, know denying they benefitted big time winning state in Louisiana 2A .

Looks to me like West Monroe played full schedule of games in 2005 unlike some of the teams who got hit by the hurricane.

ESJ had a good coach...If only he could keep a filter over his mouth.

I think Ryan Perrilloux was coached by him. I dont remember if that was before or after 2005 though.

Sidenote:  Curtis was forced down to 2A from 4A until recently.  They weren't playing "up".

Only by "technical terms"

ESJ has ATHs most every year.......that River Parish District is loaded with ATHs.

Destrehan and Hahnville.just have better coaches and better systems..

Also, College and Pro sports champs are honored at the White House every year. Serious question, what other state honors their state championship winners?

Not sure if it's a normal thing for every state champion, but, Colquitt County got honored at the Georgia legislaturein 2014 and 2015 after their back to back run. Of course an alumnus is a legislator.
