No. For every 30-plus page thread about Georgia, there has to be at least another in the making at all times. It's only fair.

Georgia guys cant comment in a thread without someone else actually bringing up GA... its a Love/Hate thing Ive noticed.

I Wasn't sold on East at the beginning of last year and after the shellacking DLS took at hands of SJB, most definitely was not impressed by East.

Lol... SJB is/was a Top 5 team. Nobody is saying that about East... but they very well could be in between the 30-50 range.

Who else in California besides Mater Dei and Cen10 was within 4-5 TDs of SJB? Nobody.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, now. SJB "shellacked" everyone they played, with the exception of MD,BG, and Cen10, who, for all intents and purposes, were top 10 teams nationally. It's not a stretch to say SLC East and DLS were in the top 30-50 range. I say top 30.

DLS's worst team in a generation and GA's best team we're both 3 TDs inferior to The SJB/ IMGs last year

was that the question?

What's sad is DLS got pounded even with a full season of hyper improvement.

Just imagine how bad SJB would have beaten DLS if it were in Game 1.

Would have been uglier, for sure

SJB was 100#/ man bigger along the LOS

good news/ bad news -- DLS returns all but one starter from the SJB game so if the kids hit the weight room hard and SJB runs into recruiting issues, might only be 80#/ man this year

BTW, September scores:

DLS 28 Servite 27 (difference = 1)

SJB 70 Servite 6 (difference = 64)

December

SJB 56 DLS 33

DLS did hyper-improve by 41 points to get within 23 of SJB

There are similar other comparative scores from early to late to make the same point -- ie the Servite game started a 4 week stretch where DLS beat Servite by 1, lost to East (UT) by 2, beat Antioch (and Najee Harris) by 7, and beat San Ramon Valley by 1.  Later in the year, these scores happened

  • Antioch lost to Freedom and Monte Vista by a combined 61 points (DLS beat those 2 teams by a combined 63 points)
  • San Ramon Valley lost to Monte Vista, California, and Foothill by an average MOV of 16 and DLS beat those 3 teams by a MOV of 28
  • East turned out to be a better team than people thought and that 2 point loss may have actual been a positive performance during an otherwise dreadful stretch

DLS '16 was by far the worst DLS team since I've been watching ('08), but I think this team should be proud of their improvement throughout the year, and they might have been the most improved team from start to finish.  They just didn't have the horses last year to play with that inner circle of national beasts -- they did come 11 points closer to SJB than the OH D1 champ so that's something
