I think with games involving teams like '01 Miami, it should be further analyzed instead of handing them a win every time because they’re Miami, '04 USC, etc.

Look at the parity in CFB, especially in today’s game. No team, including '01 Miami, is exempt from that. Remember, they were only beating Boston College 11-7 before Ed Reed had a miracle pick six (ball bounced off his cleat into his hands) to give Miami a 18-7 victory. Boston College was driving and was in position to punch in a score and take a late lead (and maybe even win the game).

Every team has an off night but the talent on their roster and the dominate performances in most their games was off the charts

For every Boston College or Virginia Tech game that year they had Penn State, Washington, Nebraska and FSU that they squashed

Wasn't Washington ranked 11th when they beat them 65-7

That's incredible

Most talented team ever, but there’s been plenty of teams that are better and better-coached than the Canes that year. 9/10 Larry Coker is not going to outcoach Pete Carrol or Nick Saban. And coaches like Carroll and Saban usually have stacked (maybe not to '01 Miami-level) rosters that can play with anyone. Big part of the reason why I always picked '95 Nebraska in the '95 NU vs. '01 Miami debate.

I'll give you that but I think people overlook Miami staff because of him

Coker was a assistant coach that they kept because they wanted to keep Butch Davis system in play but the rest of the staff wasn't horrible

They basically were using a coordinator as the head coach but they made it work

He’d get taken to the cleaners by a coach like Meyer or Saban, especially with one of their stronger teams.
